Prorack Roof Rack Fitting Kits $5 / $29 + $12 Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Repco

460

Was looking for some roof racks for my car. The fitting kits at Supercheap were anything but that, $84.99 there. To my amazement, the same kits appear to be on clearance at Repco from as little as $5. This is the fitting kit only, not the bars.

Click and collect is available, though some may take up to a week to arrive. Did see $12 postage.

Some decent roof racks on sale too. If you can find a store nearby with some in stock.

Unfortunately they give you absolutely no way of looking in other stores without you painstakingly going through each one. A bit ridiculous really!

        • only if the nearby stores have it

doesnt help if the only stock is 100's of km's away

          • @SBOB: Why do you need to know if a store 100 kilometers away has stock?

            • +2

@jimojr: Because I can then get something delivered that's out of stock in my area.

Have done so in the past recently for a few clearance Bowden and car care kits, all of which weren't available within 100+km of me, but able to be shipped for only $12 (and it was two huge boxes as there was two 'bucket' car care kits in there)

              • @SBOB: Thanks for letting me know, next time I can change my store to order items out of stock in my area.

      • For SCA, there's this.

        None for Repco, tho.

    • All the popular ones are gone.

So are are the popular girls…

    • I've found repcos stock levels inaccurate. For instance for some 1 pac spray on clear coat, the 2 stores I enquired at that said it had stock did not have stock. The 3rd store tried that did not have stock, did indeed have stock. Best to call your locals.

I am need of some roof rack fittings but I can't tell what is in this kit specifically. Anyone figure it out?

    • +3

go to the pro rack site and enter your car details and work backwards from there
      https://www.prorack.com.au/findmycar

The type my car needs isnt even listed on the repco site.

      • I did this for an 01 camry, and its there, albeit for 29 bucks, but then when the repco store picker knows my rego it says it doesn't fit. Is this verifying to me that the store picker is balls or that I shouldn't buy this?

        • +1

prorack site knows more about prorack gear than the repco site does.

          • @SBOB: Yeah, unfortunately just realised that the kit requires me to rivet tracks to the roof of my car, more balls

        • I relied on the repco website in the past, got bars that fit my car, but the fitting kit doesn't. Is for something completely different.

I'd used a price beat process and bought from another store (which was also closer to me)
Best I could get from repco was the store (assistant) manager blamed bad relationship between prorack and repco, as I remember basically claimed repco didn't provide them with proper details.

Long winded way of saying: "trust the prorack list over the repco site, but also beware"

  • no mounting kits for my car but random store many many km's away seems to have suitable bar for cheap.
Lets see if it ships :)

    • cheap roof bars shipped.
Even paying full price for the mounting kit, set of racks for less than 1/2 the price of buying elsewhere for prorack/yamika aero/whisper bar set.

    • did it ship?

      • lots of items just got another round of clearance discounts, ive found some items far away but unsure if it will ship for 12$ or ill get a call saying i need to pay more

        • never mind just realised you did say it shipped haha

      • Yep, got it.
And had to buy the mounting bits at RRP, but cheap roof rack setup at half the normal price.

  • Sigh. The only one that fits my car is full price.

Buy another car that has a mounting kit on clearance?
Can't miss out on the deal…

  • These must be leftovers from the initial clearance on the prorack stuff from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/759351
Must be trying to make more room for the RhinoRack accessories they replaced it with

  • I have just found out these are also compatible with yakima crossbars

    • Yep, the prorack cross bars are also the same as Yakima..
