Bought one at a similar price.
took more than 1 month to receive it.

    • I think they are shipped from Hong Kong.

      • Ingram Micro handles distribution for Lenovo webstore in Australia.

Likely had to come from factory to Lenovo to Ingram Micro in Australia, hence the long shipping times

      • Not sure about educational store, but when I bought from Lenovo online store before, they were shipped from China.

    • yeah same, i think mine was like 2+ months, I ordered before we moved house in early april, received it just a couple of weeks ago. Seems to just be these types of deals that take this long though, when work bought one at full price it arrived within a few days.

    • bought one and this took a week to get here. Tested good and working at 65w for my new Lenovo laptop - so now there's one charger in my bag, and one charger stays at work.

  • +3

Bought it for $18 in March, took a couple weeks to get.

    • +1

      Bought last year:

This email is to inform you that we will need to cancel your order for Lenovo USB-C 65W Adapter.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused, however, we have identified a system pricing issue that occurred between 02.02.2022 – 07.02.2022.

      Better luck?

But instead I got a much, much smaller 45W GaN charger, which works fine with my 13" Dell laptop, as well as phone etc.

      • +1

Same, even after they said they refund my money, my credit card still has the fund withheld after a few months, need to email them a few times to get it cancelled

  • +2

Ordered one last time this deal was posted but after weeks of nothing I cancelled the order. Also these adapters don't do USB-PD 12v so no good for me

    • +1

I remember ordering one of these from last year and it ended up being cancelled on their end as a pricing error.

      • This is not a pricing error, it's EOFY sale.

        • +2

          It's not a tumour.

  • Is it a good option or charge your phones?

    • I’d be wanting PPS

More suited to a laptop but even then - PPS

      • Is PPS mandatory for some devices?

        • +1

Some rapid charge protocols require it

    • Works just fine, but overkill unless you need it for a laptop as well

    • +1

Maybe not. It is too bulky for Android phones. It is unclear how Apple intends to handle iPhone 15 (Pro/Max) USB-C charging yet. Ideally, for Android phones, you might want PPS support (i.e. Samsung phones).

However, since it is designed for laptops, the integrated USB-C cable is e-marked and supports USB-PD 3.0. That, technically, is good (even if the Android devices use PD 2.0 only). Do check whether your devices need 12V support because of some of them do, then it is not suitable.

Realistically, unless you let people know the phones you have, we can only speculate.

    The 95w is $38 p/n: GX20Z46233

    • +1

      Thanks updated.

  • +2

I got the 95w version, took forever and a day but it finally arrived.

Any edu email tricks just for this?

    • Have a kid and wait 5 or so years for them to go to school? There used to be free courses you could sign up for that would give you an email address. Is there an easy way to get a .edu.au email address?

    • Anyone who has been to uni and graduated can still get an edu email address.

  • +1

They'll cancel it like last time

    • The 65W charger has been $29 in the education store since at least a month ago. This deal represents a small improvement on that. There is no particular reason to think it is a price error.

  • -1

Bought it when Lenovo had the $100 vouchers.

    Used twice. Stopped working.

    Quality appears quite poor

    • +5

These are the same adapter as those supplied with low-mid range notebooks.

I have got 100's of these in use across several schools in charging trolleys and not a single one has failed.

Like most things ordered from the Lenovo Edu store, they will ship from China by DHL.

  • +1

Mine took a month or more, it seems the same as my other Lenovo chargers.

Beats relying on some random little GaN charger that might or might not blow up my laptop/phone.

    • That's the fun of gambling.

  • Would there be any issues using this on other branded laptops taking USB C?

    • +2

Not in my experience. Used on dell Lenovo and MacBook Air. Charged phones and iPads. Very good in my opinion

    • +1

Lenovo laptops with USB-C charging generally use USB-C/PD 3.0 so the charger is likely good for variety of laptops. However, if you have a device which really needs 12V support, then this may not be ideal. That's the mess of USB-C world. Some devices prefer 15V whereas some prefer 12V. The more common 5V, 9V and 20V support are there.

i use with hp and lg on 65W.. and usb c phone…
dont know why 3 pin and 2 pin on 65W usb c..

    • +1

So is this targeted for edu

    • -2

I guess you missed the important details in the deal header or the description?

      Lenovo USB-C AC Adapter Charger (65W $25.65 / 95W $38) Delivered @ Lenovo Education Store
At the Lenovo EDU AU store only, need to have edu email

      • -1

Its still targeted though and not open to general public and should be tagged as such …

        • If you think this deal requires a “Targeted” tag, feel free to report it to the mods.

Normally the targeted tag only exists on a deal if the url is the same but people are getting different offers from the merchant. Check the url closely on this deal and it links to a Lenovo Education site. An excellent example is the deals posted for Samsung products. You can access different prices from different Samsung portals but those deals do not require a targeted tag

          Hope this explanation helps

      "Brand: AORSI"

      No.

  • What happens if I use this on my fold and iPad?

    • +3

The battery charge percentage rises on both devices.

    • +1

It will work for both, but for fold, it needs PPS for fastest charging. This charger only support PDO charging. It will still be fast charging it, just not the fastest so if every minute counts, and you must have PPS charging then look elsewhere.

Apple iPads, in general, traditionally use 5V, 9V, 20V combination so this charger is fine. The newer Apple USB-C laptop chargers do introduce 15V support, but given the chargers Apple sell for iPads don't have that (as far as I know), 15V support is not needed for iPad (doesn't hurt the charger supports 15V).

Note: I assume you have an iPad 10th gen as that's the first non-Air, non-Pro iPad to use USB-C port instead of lightning. These Lenovo chargers have the USB-C cable integrated and cannot be removed.

However, it is generally best to use original chargers.

  • is there a way to buy without having an .edu email ?

    • Anyone who has been to uni and graduated can still get an edu email address.

      • How? I'm pretty sure neither of the 2 unis i went to give alumni emails
