[PC, Steam] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II $60.47 (45% off) @ Steam

120

Morning All!

First post, so please be gentle.

Was just browsing through Steam and noticed this game finally at a decent price. If you're looking to jump on it via Steam, I would say this is a pretty half decent offer!

Also on offer is the Vault Edition at $111.96, however, I would hardly call that a bargain.

Enjoy!

    Game's shite. Don't get it.

As someone whos played a lot of COD and played the last 4 cods, this one is kind of a skip,
Devs dont care much about it,
Mutiplayer is made to promote camping and discourage pushing,
Maps are pretty bad and not many available,
Campaign is decent if thats what you want it for,
Honestly, coldwar was a better multiplayer experience,

I still put about 50 hours into it as I play pretty much all the cods, but this one was the least enjoyable in the last 4

    • What's your pick of them? I haven't played any of it since the first one or two

Gonna have to agree unfortunately. By comparison of MW 2019 especially, this one was a pretty big let down, but it's still good to get some enjoyment out of here and there for a quick session until you throw your mouse across the room.

It's a shame their anti-cheat is absolute shite though, too many hackers all over the damn place.

I think they put the majority of their focus onto warzone which is unfortunate, because warzone yet again is full of little 12 year old aim-botters.

      • How depressing is latest warzone. How they got it so wrong is baffling

        • +1

Yeah I really don't get it. Like, the initial warzone was so damn good to play and this last one is absolutely terrible, how do they regress so badly?

@Zex94: tried to cut battlefields lunch and make it a 'more realistic' BR? the backpacks and looting at the start were horrible.
Wz1 - colourful, distinct areas, simple to play
            wz caldera: shocking map
wz2: shocking map (everything is dull), gameplay a huge step back.

hard to compete with covid19 lockdown nostalgia but shouldnt be this hard.
Player base moved to rebirth island eventually..maybe that style is the go to - have 2-3 maps that rotate like MP

      • The only one I've played for many years was 2019, guess I got lucky.

  • shipment is the only good map.

    Got it to play campaign.
    Multiplayer games are overated.

  • Activision has milked their cash cow to death. On to the next franchise.

If you're thinking about getting this, download Warzone 2 and play that first.

It'll give you an idea of the gunplay and overall gameplay. If you like it then you can purchase this which is just intimate maps, different game modes and no armour.
You'll share gun progression and levels so you've nothing to lose by trying WZ2 first.

    Do not buy, rubbish game

  • Have the game and mostly play warzone which is frustrating as they match you with players who are 100 times better than you, very toxic players and the other night the Australian or close by servers were down so would take literally 10 mins to connect to a game and ended up playing either on the Chinese servers or American and the latency was terrible.

Shame paid close to $100 for this game.

Just want for the campaign, but damn 60$ is steep even for nostalgia

    • +1

Nostalgia? This isn’t the original mw2 from 2009/10

      • +1

It does have a campaign though

    • +3

Are you some sort of time traveller? Nothing nostalgic about this game

  • +2

Campaign was good but way short. 2-3 nights and I was done. Extremely short single player.

    Wasn't interested in multiplayer.

    Extremely disappointing!

    • Most of the CoD campaigns are pretty short like this. But I felt this campaign was lacklustre, definitely not as good as MW2019's.

  • Dmz is pretty fun

    • It's the best part of COD in years. Using regular multiplayer to level up guns to bring into DMZ!

  • Wish they'd sell the campaign separately, COD games aren't great value if you're not interested in multiplayer.

  • The Callisto Protocol 40.47$ with Sale and Coupon discounts combined. That is unbeatable deal. Hooray for Epicgames.
