Looks like an all time low? Camels yet to update but looking at the previously lowest 3rd party price these look to have beat it by ~$10? Happy hunting.

Nope! You're right, in fact you'd probably have been a lot better off with those on account of the price difference. Only posting since it's virtually the same tool but in case anyone missed out and was in the market for an alternative that was still in stock.
Cheers. I ordered the others (not yet arrived from Germany). Hopefully they'll be ok for my fairly light requirements. I'll post my findings on the next similar deal.
Also just to add-on, I'm definitely not an expert on the real world impact you can expect from +6 HRC. However, if you're working with a lot of steel wiring, the extra hardness may help squeeze some additional life out of the tool in the long-run. That being said, I'd defer to the better judgement of people who do this for a living though if they have anything to add or correct to this blatant speculation.
These are popular with people who 3D print. I posted a deal a while back and wondered why they were so popular, now that I have a filament printer I understand.
Yep, don't underestimate a quality pair of cutters, they make life so much better if you use them a lot.
Plastic was too hard for my stock ender 3 cutters, broke the tip off
I bought the 78 61 125 for $24 last year.
How do these differ? I see that mine are 64 HRC, but aside from that?
According to Knipex, two key things. Firstly, yours (78 61 125) are additionally suited to cutting fibre optic cable. Secondly, their biggest physical distinction is the head shape, these ones featuring a 'narrow head'. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though, so giving a verdict on if that's actually worth an extra $16 is above my paygrade. Hope this helps.
Awesome, thanks! You were able to figure this out just from the product page on the Knipex website?
Is this suitable for the fine cuts for Gundam models?
Depends what scale the model is
No it's not. You'd want proper plastic side cutters for sprues. I think the blade angle is different between the tools, you don't use modelling cutters for copper wire and vice versa.
I've tried using my 78 61 125 on sprues and they cause discolouration just the same as the cheapy set of cutters I had from Jaycar. I bought the Tamiya side cutters and they were significantly better, can flush cut with these on thinner connections but for the thick cuts I always leave ~1-2mm or nip at 45 deg angle from top and bottom and slowly cut it back.
Knipex 78 06 125 - $30
60HRC vs 54HRC, but worth so much more than this deal?
