Quality-wise the filling is a fair step above the cheaper jackets you see on here… Down jackets will also last decades. So imo they're a damn sight better value than something like fashionable sneaker.
Not sure they're still made the same, but I'm wearing the same Down Sweater I've had for 10 years. Use it all the time too, including going on climbing trips. Patched one ember hole with some tape, the draw string pulled through a few years ago, and some zip ends broke.. That's it. It's great.
And for the life of the product (I'm pretty sure this is the rule), Patagonia will repair it (send it away to a local outdoors repair specialist) usually for free.
