    That’s pretty bloody good actually

    • +12

Not the wait in the line

      • Lol i remember carls jr ppl lined up couple days

      • +4

Esp if your boss sees you at martin place queuing and skipping work.

  • -5

Do we need to wear our North Face black puffer Jacket with our Milk while on the line?

  • Has anyone bought the new gen Pufftech jackets ? how is the quality for the price…thanks

    • They look and feel similar to the ULD ones, but the pattern is different (subjectively uglier). Polyester fill so jury’s out on the warmth

      • +8

        Polyester for $100? That’s a no dawg

        • Good thing its free with this deal.

    • +4

Compared to ULD: heavier since it's synthetic fill, doesn't compress down as well, exterior shell also felt thicker and sturdier.

So IMO less practical as a packable layering piece, but better as a casual outer jacket. At that price though, it's definitely just for the fashion rather than the warmth, so it'll only be worth it if you're into the looks.

  • +1

    The new OzB uniform?

  • Only NSW?

  • No Vic?

  • Let the camping out begin!

    • +1

Place your bets, how early do people think they'll start queueing at 🤣

  • +11

Few hoops to jump through, but free jacket I guess…

    1. To be eligible to receive a product sample voucher, Attendees must:
      a. Be one of the first 200 on Day 1 or Day 2 to visit the UNIQLO PUFFTECH Activation located at Martin Place, Sydney.
      b. Read the instructions on how to walk through the activation and follow the directions of staff.
      c. Have a public Instagram account and follow @uniqloau.
      d. On Instagram stories share a photo of themselves in the “PLAY” section of the PUFFTECH Activation tagging @uniqloau.
    • The line instagram account is a no deal here

    • They cut the bit where a scalper is in front of him and buys all the tickets!

      • +1

The thing is I don't have the money on me now, can I pay you tmr?

  • +4

No doubt a great jacket but I just wish clothing retailers were doing more to create non-synthetic versions. Essentially you’re walking around in a giant piece of plastic potentially coated in forever chemicals.

    • +4

If it's waterproof it's definitely coated in forver chemicals unless they're explicitly marketing the fact it's not.

    • +1

Like an oilskin? It's all natural.

    • $$$

      • I would pay extra for it 💸

    • But "vegan" is the new anti animal cruelty. "Vegan" leather, "vegan" down, etc

  • +5

Ma’am WHY DID YOU REDEEM IT

  • +1

    Thanks OP

  • +7

You should see the lines when they give away $10 inners……but a $99 jacket lol

  • +2

Hope the homeless people will get the puff jacket first. Many of them already sleep around Martin Place. : )

    • +3

doubt they would pass the t&cs, like posting a story on insta :(

      • +1

Homeless people have phones too. I've seen it.

        • -1

They gave Bill Gates their email address 😆

I think some of them actually have a job, just too expensive to find a place

      • -5

Maybe all the bleeding heart greens and teal voters can line up on their behalf and then donate their jackets to the homeless. Fat chance of that actually happening though.

        • What would Liberal voters do?

          • -1

            @johnstone: They’ll be at work.

            • @Mike Nolan: I said what would Liberal voters do if they lined up?

              • +3

@johnstone: Try to snort the line. Wait, sorry that's liberal staffers.

          • +1

@johnstone: Imagine one of the political parties line up and give to homeless would be instant internet sensation and bonus voting points

  • +2

LOL I know its not in the Ozbargain spirit, but $99 is not worth the time it would take waiting in line to get a voucher

    • +1

bahahah i dont think you understand the meaning of the word free. Its going to be an ozbargainer morning meeting there XD

  • +3

I remember when they opened Parramatta store - there was a similar promo.
I still use the puffer jacket (no hoodie).
One of the best freebie I ever got. :)

  • Get ready y'all, your going to see a hoard of ozbargainers with the kmart camp chairs, ready to pounce on this deal.

  • I’ll be there

  • Only white colour for men, and black colour for women. If you don't like white jacket, don't bother. Imagine you wear white jacket. I guess many people actually prefer black jacket over white as it's more neutral and good for many occasions. Maybe that's why Uniqlo limits white jacket only for men for this event (less demand?)

    • +1

It's Japanese brand. Men over there don't care if it's white noone will say anything about you

      • +2

Since when was white not a “manly” colour? Kids these days

  • +2

Man, I remember the crazy ass line back last year when they were giving away free shirts at Pitt St. Bet this one's gonna be absolutely insane, lol. Can someone report back how they are? Would totally go if I wasn't in QLD rn.

  • +2

Nice one, I’ll queue up to take part. My boss doesn’t pay me that well.

  • +6

Arrived 7:50, roughly 40 people in front of me

    • +4

      About 68 people now

      • I just got at the end of the line in front of COS. Up to which area is 68th? Haha

        • How many people d’you reckon there are?

          • +1

            @PhoenixIsRight: Roughly 280+ by my count :((

            • @monkey ears: Omg guess I won’t bother 😅 thank you

            • @monkey ears: Can you tell us the demographics? Ozbargainers, homeless, students etc? Or maybe even politicians

              • +2

@neonlight: Mostly students and workers taking the day off! No homeless people, and lots of the early and committed people seemed like international students - UQ has a big Asian fanbase.

              • +1

@neonlight: Mostly Asian below 40 years old but I had a couple of uncles and aunties lining up behind me

        • Before they moved the line I was standing next to UOB earlier

          • +1

@niffy: I got there a little before 9am and they told us at 11:45am that the last jacket will go to the guy about 30 people ahead of us. Lots of people saved spots for friends/spouses

            • +1

@joe900joe: Can you…can you actually save a spot for someone? Isn’t that a bit dodgy? No one kicked up a fuss?

            • @joe900joe: Saving spots shouldn't be allowed. How security guards handle that?

    • I dont think they need to open till 7pm, its definitely gonna be sold out by the time they open. Just need to hope you are not the 201st person in line

    • Good luck tell us the quality and if it's worth it
      Approx 200 perhaps before 10am!?

  • +1

    Ozb meetup

  • Martin Place? What use would Sydney people have for a puffer jacket? It never even gets cold there.

  • +5

As of 9.35am there were over 330 people in line. abort abort abort

    • +2

Yep, got there at 9:20, saw the line and wished I slept in instead

  • +2

God I hate this new marketing jargon, "activation". That is all.

  • +1

    Picture please.

Any chance grt into the line and get the voucher? Now 9.55am

  • +3

If you guys remember it's not the first time they did this. Last time was those heat tech around 2018 they did a stunt same thing at Martin place

  • +1

I checked it out on my way to work and it was not worth the wait. Hundreds queuing - freebie is no doubt gone before 10am. Get there early tomorrow if you want one.

  • Just donate them to charity instead!

  • +5

I got there at 5:30 when they were still constructing the experience, where there was no line and 1 other person. Get there before 7:30am for guaranteed spots, line is basically non existent and starts to ramp up just before 8am. Friday might be more crowded because of today’s publicity :)

    • +2

Im going now to set tent and sleep overnight. See you all tonight!

  • +1

When I was lining up many people added friends to the queue after they held the spot for them. One guy even pushed in front of me at 9.30am and the security was pretty lacklustre (they only started walking around at 9.45am ish)

    • +3

That sucks, people shouldnt be allowed to reserve a spot when there's a limited quantity given. That's not fair for people who've already waiting.

      • +4

Yeah that defeats the purpose of queuing up! They should start the line at a given time and hand numbered tickets out only for people who are actually there.

    • This is where you need to start throwing fists.

  • +1

Years ago I liked up for yonks just for a long sleeved Uniqlo top, a jacket is much more worth it

  • +3

Walked past it this morning. Don't bother lining up from now, it's already full

  • +1

Walked past at 7.40am, don't bother. Just wait fr a sale

    • Indeed this is just another social media stunt. And a successful one. See this is how a proper marketing campaign is done. Japanese nailed it.

  • I was a COS and was told by the staff the 200 jackets are exhausted

  • -3

    is anyone there yet
