Disappointing mob. Took my money, but failed to deliver on the service. Bought 2 x 7gb global sim plan. Reached out multiple times via their Australian CS, but no response.

    • If you have emails or records I'd suggest doing a charge back on your credit card.

Even if you're not successful it will likley still cost flexiroam to respond to the card issuer or if they don't then you're likley to get a credit back.

  • Please add eSIM only in the title

    • Done - thanks for the reminder. I started with flexiroam using the free 28 Degrees trial & they couriered a sim to me, but it looks like they don't do this any more.

If you already have sim from them then these data packs will work without an eSim being required.

I believe they do still have physical Sims as I ordered a replacement from them just a few months ago, which they provided free of charge. Who knows, you may have some success ordering a 'replacement' Sim when you've activated the voucher, but it's probably not worth the risk unless someone has already tried.

I asked them in whatsapp and they replied that SIMs are still available via the app. I have no idea why they don't mention this on the website.

Anyone who's used them do you know how long from purchase you have to activate the esim?

    • According to the purchase page you have 3 months to activate.

I used them as part of the 28degrees promo and they were great for my trip to Thailand and Singapore. Going to recharge the SIM for Queenstown trip in August.

      • Going to recharge the SIM for Queenstown trip in August.

There's hardly any coverage down there.

  • Used these guys from the free latitude promo and was fantastic.

  • What is the difference between this and say buying a data sim when you arrive at your destination? Flexiroam only offer up to 10gb compared to say an unlimited data sim from 3, that offers the roaming for the same countries for $50 Aud if you pick up the sim at your destination.

      convenience at a higher price.
An esim allows you to be set up before you arrive at your destination and not have to swap your sim out (or put the new Sim in if you have a dual Sim phone) which limits the risk of losing/damaging your sim

  • What’s the ozbargainers go to for global esim with just lots of data?

    • I would recommend northsim.. they haven’t posted here in a while but I’ve reached out and they said they’ll post a deal shortly

  • Haven't used them yet - just checking here if it is any good.

I used them for a recent trip to Thailand & it worked perfectly. So handy to have working data from the moment we landed to get Uber, Grab, etc.

    • Have used them once. Got same 5gb data package last year. It was great. No complaints. Best part is this can be your backup data sim while traveling especially at airport.

  • Trying this instead. eSim with free 1.5gb

    • There were a couple of weird comments on that thread, can't confirm that they're true though:
      * Sold by Singtel, no coverage in Singapore
      * White labeled from Airalo with a mention it's Russian owned
      * Data about you can be sold

My wife has used Flexiroam once before. It roamed onto a quality provider. And this discount makes an outrageous price look reasonable. Also the eSIM saved a few headaches.

  • Used Flexiroam in Seoul and Tokyo/Osaka before COVID. No issues and will use them again. By the way, I noticed that I can still receive (not sending) SMS on my BOOST sim while overseas.

  • The current referral link says that referee & referrer both get 200MB global data free - it would be nice if they made this a usable amount of data considering how cheap the plans are.
