Seeking Recommendations: Audio Splitter and Bluetooth Transmitter for Simultaneous TV Listening

Hey OzBargain community!

I need your expertise on finding an audio splitter and Bluetooth transmitter combo. Here's the situation: My aunt has a hearing issue and wants to stream TV audio directly to her hearing aids, while my uncle enjoys the soundbar. Can you help me find the right devices?

Requirements:

Audio Splitter: Reliable splitter to simultaneously send TV audio to the soundbar and Bluetooth transmitter without compromising quality.
Bluetooth Transmitter: Pairable with hearing aids, supporting stable, lag-free audio streaming via Bluetooth.
Compatibility: Works with modern TVs and various Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids.
User-friendly: Easy setup and use for non-tech-savvy individuals.
Affordable: Reasonably priced options without sacrificing reliability.

Please share any recommendations, personal experiences, and specific brand/models that fit the criteria above.

Thanks a ton for your help!

Edit: Ended up purchasing this Bluetooth Transmitter along with this Audio Splitter.
Feedback: Soundbar quality and bluetooth quality remain excellent. Slight delay in the hearing aids which my aunt can't identity as she can't hear the soundbar.
Thank you to those who made suggestions!

Thanks JV! Looks like that will link up well with this.

Do they have a recent AV Receiver around? They might support bluetooth and speakers at the same time. At least the Denon in my house does.

    • Unfortunately not. Full setup from scratch.

You can use a $2 3.5mm splitter if the transmitter does not include one. Audio frequency ain't rocket science.
Cable to the soundbar. Which transmitter depends on the hearing aids. What protocol/codecs do they support?

    • Good idea. However, previous experience with 3.5mm splitters has got me cringing about the quality of sound coming out. I'd personally have sound off and subtitles on.
Unsure about protocol/codecs - will have to check. Thanks for the heads up.

You mean crackling from a loose connection being flexed? Or two headphones adding to loo low impedance?
Your soundbar and transmitter will be high-impedance inputs, so no trouble there.

        • Most likely from loose connection due to cheaper splitters being used. I'll keep this in mind when setting it up and see if I can get it working. Could always return if not happy…

What's the connection to the soundbar?

    I got a friend one of these - https://amzn.asia/d/aaT29ev

They use HDMI for the soundbar and feed the transmitter with optical and gives them dual Bluetooth out.

If soundbar is optical then passive optical splitters are available, but, they're very hit and miss as to whether they provide enough signal on both outputs. Depends on the tv and the receiving device. I'm often having to use powered splitters at work.

    • Thank you for your suggestion.
HDMI input to soundbar - It also has optical, however decided to stick with the HDMI. In hindsight, a powered splitter would suit the budget better.

      • What about ditching the HDMI audio extractor and run the BT directly off the TV Optical Out
