They sent me a code after I went for free tickets to return. Try code; “ThanksSydney” for your free entry.

They seem to do this at all shows for "day 2", you wont miss anything by skipping day 1. These are just sales shows, nothing decent free and the sales are no more impressive than otherwise offered by the various vendors. These shows truly don't seem to offer any value to the customer/visitor.

Exactly what i wanted to say.
Went to Jan 2023 one.. such a disappointment and duh, next day entry was for free.

    • Thanks. The code is working!

  • It's edited. Code ThanksMelbourne is not working yet. May be 2nd day when its on next weekend:)

  • Is it worth going to these shows?

A dad alone with the baby this weekend. Thinking about going.

Limited freebies, and usually stuff that's on sale is basically EOFY or boxing day level of deals. Good if the timing of your babies arrival doesn't line up with those sales, but otherwise so so.

If it's free and it's not inconvenient to go, I recommend going as they usually have free baby/toddler activities. Not as much worth for the shopping, but more for the convenience that you have access to so many shops in the same place.

      • Thanks, good point! A bit of play time!

These things are a complete waste of time in my opinion. Apart from the reasons others have given, rather than worry about the BS that you might need to buy, read a couple of good parenting books instead. Your baby won't give a sh!t if he's in the latest bugaboo stroller or a second hand steel craft you found in hard rubbish

Always wondered why Expos cost money, as they are usually just gigantic advertising brochures.

Agree. Seems double dipping as the vendors probably need to pay too - i bet they would prefer it to be free as you get more people in.

  • Any chance we'll get free tickets to Melbourne next week? We need a cot and change table.

    • Nothing wrong with Ikea. The cots and change tables at these expos are so pricey.

    • It'll probably be ThanksMelbourne https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/759166
Sydney was advertising 50% off a month before the expo then they took the code down. But vendors were advertising their own 50% off code on facebook, which is what I used because i wasnt sure if i wanted to go.
At the end of the day I got SMS'd thankssydney to return for free

      General advice
They also had one in Sydney back in Feb so if you cant make this one, there may be one in another 4 months.

If you can go on a non-weekend, I reckon it's worth it for less crowds and first choice of deals. Bubba blue had 2 for $30 on winnie the pooh and peter rabbit on Friday and basically gone on Sunday.
But the opposite is also true. Some vendors want to get rid of the stock and lower the prices at the end of the expo.

I was able to get a lot of freebies on Friday that it more than made up for the cost of the tickets and parking.
Returned Sunday to pick up demo stock I purchased but knew where to get freebies that i guess made up for the parking cost. However would not recommend parking at lot 6 at show grounds. Horrendously slow to exit when the expo was over.
