  I use this type of tool a lot, also real handy when putting plugs into mortar and you need to snip off a bit cleanly.

      Partially drill a screw into the plug, then use the same Knipex nippers clasping onto the screw then pull the plug back out again,
      or just bang the plug a bit further in using the same screw then remove the screw and apply a bit of mortar over it to hide it.
