  • You might want to add the cost of shipping to your description - showing up as $2 for me.

    Its not the 3D version

    • +2

Apart from the title screen neither was the cinema release.

Awesome movie, worst 3D ever.90% of the scenes looked perfect without glasses on.

      • -1

you must of went to the wrong cinema and saw the 2d version instead

lol, perhaps they done it for giggles in my local cinema.

I have heard that a poorly placed projector can ruin 3D, maybe that caused it, I dunno.

        • Hah, that site just says to watch everything in 3D (even Spider-Man, where almost all user responses said "don't).

        • +2

          This site's better

          http://realorfake3d.com/

If it's in the fake list don't bother.

        • So according to that site Avengers is fake 3D. I concur.

      • +1

You're write on that 1,3d is just annoying and waste of money.
Gimmick has gone on for way to long.

    • Added 3D link in description, does not include comic apparently, only 3D bluray/bluray/digital copy for $34.86

  • Does anyone know if this is all regions?

    • According to Amazon it is.

I preordered it from Amazon (inc delivery) for about $31 for the 3D version. For the extra few bucks I get a region 4 DVD and Australian digital copy. Worth it IMO.

      • Not with the 3D version, you get 3D Blu, 2D Blu plus digital copy, no DVD.

        • DOH!!! You're right. For me anyhow I'd a better deal. The DVD wouldn't come out of the case (like all the other DVD's in my blurays) anyhow. Prefer the digital version over DVD.

        • +1

Same, whenever I watch DVD now, I am always distracted by how bad the picture is, even when upscaled. It's pretty hard to go back. I never use any of the DVD's or digital copies, it's a bit of a waste really, so many DVD's produced to never see the light of day.

  • JB Hifi will most likely match the price on release if you aren't near a Big W (though you'll miss out on the comic book).

  • +2

I freakin' hate when they omit the DVD copy. Why dont get we get the super edition like the USA??

    • yeah the dvd copy is far more useful in some cases and it sucks if you're gunning for the 3d version

    • -1

I don't understand, why would you need both the Blu-ray and the DVD copy?

      • +2

We do for Big TV and kids TV in their bedroom.

  • Wow I thought these were coming out next month.

Good price - Amazon UK is 16 pound (about 24 AUD plus postage).
    I ordered this myself a while ago - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Marvels-The-Avengers-6-Disc-Blu-ray/…
Good value as I don't have the previous movies.
Interestingly - Amazon has their release date as Sept 17

Just checked my Amazon order - pre-ordered the 6 pack for 32 pounds inc delivery.

  • why can we have the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled (10-Disc Limited Edition Six-Movie Collector's Set) in Australia!

Looks cool - only real extra disk (if you ignore 3D) is the 'phase one' which will hopefully be 'available' at most places.
Be great if you had (or cared about) 3D.

    • Just order it from the US.. All the Marvel movies have been region free so far no reason this set wouldn't be as well.

      Stealing isn't a bargain?

I didn't know the Pirate Bay sold Blurays.

    • downloading a 50gb bluray from piratebay, good luck sir.

    • I figure Pirate Bay and the like is only for the stuff you wouldn't actually pay money for.

This movie was good, and thus is worth paying for. These movies don't make themselves. Pre-ordered the 3D version, figured this will be the best price on offer, at least on initial release.

  • Anyone know why the DVD release date for the US is 3 weeks later than the release date for Australia? No complaints, just curious.

    • Because the theatrical release for US was around 3 weeks later whereas Australia got to see it early

  • Been waiting for this. Thank you!

  • Cheaper at amazon!

    • Obviously but not by much and you don't get region 4 DVDs or Australian digital copies (depending on what set you're getting). Worth the extra $5 IMO.

  • wonder what the comic is? some crappy 5 page thing or a mini re-print of something like the spider-man 2 CE DVD set.. hmmm

  • Picked it up today at BigW. Saw them unboxing them and got one without comic for $24. With comic is $35 until Thursdsay. Comic is dvd size and didnt look like it was worth the extra $$$

  • Phoned Big W today and confirmed they were in stock. Was told the price was $27.77 and they would not honour the $24 as this was 'online only'. Wife dropped in to BigW on the way home and they scanned at $35! Wife was told that they will be $24 on Wednesday but until then the price is $35.

    • Couldn't you just ask them to price match their online store?

Picked this up tonight for $24.82 for the Double Play with bonus comic. The version without comic was $23.82. Don't bother with the comic version, even if it is only $1. The comic is not worth the extra buck, I imagine unless you are an avid collector. Spend the $1 you save on a chocolate bar, you'll enjoy it more.

  • Got the Double Play with comic for $23.82 yesterday

  • The $39.98 JB version is Triple Play http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/dvd-genres/action-adventu… (includes digital download) rather than Double Play. The Double Play edition is $24.98 at JB http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/dvd-genres/action-adventu…
