Surly 4th gen is just ewaste at this stage

    • Its beyond ewaste, its pure landfill

    • Probably 5th, 6th, and maybe a few more lol - why spend 200$+ for a 6xmonth laptop, better off closer to more current gen or new. Some of these units are so overpriced for what you get. Even some of the hardware can't be patched - its just too outdated, and once windows 10 is gone thats it unless you use linux variant or have a another use for it. As for screen resolutions - anything below a horizontal res of 1600 is just garbage.

Reading this comment on my 2nd gen intel i7 PC…

      • +1

i7-2600 paired with an RX 570, 8GB RAM and a SSD is still suprisingly capable, more than enough to run RDR2 and several other newer titles on atleast med settings with ~60fps frame rate

Breezes through web-browsing, emails, YT, whatever.

Not at all. I do most of my general internet browsing and media consumption on a tablet which has about half the processing power of one of those. As long as the WiFi card is good, there's 8GB RAM and an SSD, these machines are technically just fine for a lot of people.

      At the right price.

      Which these are not.

  • what's the condition

    • visit the links - they have grading
      eg.

      Physical Condition Grade: C

A really good addition to any 8th gen Dell Latitude is a Dell WD15 USB dock. Heaps around $50 mark on eBay etc…

    • Yes very handy accessory

  • can we increase ram of 9th gen dell latitude?

    • Dell Latitude 5401 - Intel Core i5-9400H, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, FHD Graphics, Win11

    • +1

It already has 2X8GB modules in it so all the slots are used. You need to purchase 16GB modules for that.

Since when was monthly advertising for e-waste a deal?

    • Better to reuse than chuck or even recycle.

  • Lenovo-Yoga-910-13IKB-Intel-i5-7200u-8GB-RAM-256GB-SSD-4K-Touchscreen-Win10(corporatepc.com.au) $399

Gee that’s decent, 4K Yoga for $400. Don’t know about the state of it.

    • 7200u is going to be a very low end performer.

repurposing is always good, just a matter of at what cost.
for vic concession card holders and don't mind not using windows, computer bank is a better idea.

  • +1 from me for the detailed listing and transparent condition grades. I suspect many other sellers would flog the same gear as grade A. Hopefully more 8th gen models will drop toward the $350 mark by the end of this year. Short of a show-stopper like last week’s SP5 deal, it’s hard to recommend anything older (even though it was stupidly easy to upgrade that to W11).

    • Thanks for understanding. Rather than false promises, we prefer to downgrade the condition so that after buying the buyers are not disappointed. Personally I can tell that most of the item marked as C grade are better then C grade.

  • It would be really handy if you guys stated the screen size in your product description. 15.6" models?

    • Hi, with 15.6 inch display, any other specs you are looking for? Thanks.

      • Centre mounted trackpad (not on left of palmrest)

        • Can you please provide exmaple of a laptop model which contains such featre so that we can fully understand.

          • @Skymstr: MSI Modern, recent Dell xps15, MacBook , surface laptop, The trackpad is in the centre of the palmrest. (Not on the left).

            • @16k-zx81: Thanks for sharing.I think most of them have their trackpad in the middle. If you are interested on any specific model, please let us know and we can check that for you. Regards.

              • @Skymstr: Like I said, none of your listings have screen size. This feature is relatively rare on 15.6" laptops, (its common on smaller models). You will understand I don't want to go through every listing to check screen size then to try and find a machine that has this feature.

  • Hi, I purchased one of the HPs on Monday (late) and haven’t heard since about it shipping, now Friday night, wondering how long it normally takes? Thanks
