Thanks OP. Was on my wishlist. Beats Amazon by a long mile, plus the extra Shopback 10% is a nice sweetener.

Nice! which colour did you go for? There's something about the Purple that is growing on me, but I think ill play it safe at go for the grey

      • Haha I went the safe option with boring grey 😅

  • OP I reckon the cloud up deserves a separate post 😉

Unless you need to save the pack weight, the mongar is a much more versatile and comfortable tent.

I've basically retired my cloud up as there are too many compromises for me. It's hanging around for the odd bikepacking trip or as a loaner but no longer a main tent.

      • How has the Mongar held up in cooler weather? what mattress would you recommend to go with it? Cheers!

I don't have a mongar myself, was planning to get one and then came across a deal on an x-mid instead. I have a few friends with them and have camped around zero together a couple of times. They seem to hold up fine to the weather, you can adjust the pitch closer to the ground for less breeze if it's really cold.

Mattress can be a tricky one. I'm a fan of the nemo tensor (I have the alpine) which is very plush, comfortable and quiet to sleep on. I tend to sleep on my side so the extra thickness is essential. It's not the lightest though so if you don't plan on snow camping you may be able to go something lighter. The Sea to Summit ether lights are a similar spec and price, but those sound like a chip packet to anyone nearby and had some QC issues initially.

It's important to remember that the mattress works in conjunction with your sleeping bag or quilt, it's the combination of the two that provides the sleep experience good or bad. A great mattress can still mean a terrible sleep if the rest isn't right.

  • Strange they don't advertise its weight. But Amazon states it's "2.4kg for the whole set".

There are several reviews on Youtube that state without the pegs total weight is 2.031kg

        Nice!

By the way, has anyone used the extra vestibule, which looks like a great addition to this smallish tent? The vestibule makes it 210x135+180cm of cover, adds 760g and lots of pale white colour.
