    $2k2 and still no thunderbolt?

    • Check the CPU

Is there much you can do with Thunderbolt that you can't do with USB C 3.2 gen2

    • +1

It's a gaming laptop with a fast dGPU and multiple video output options. Unless you specifically need to transfer lots of files to external storage,Thunderbolt is not needed. It also won't be able to provide enough bandwidth to an eGPU beyond a 6600 or 3060 external GPU due to Thunderbolt's bandwidth limits.

  • Don't forget 3.5% Cashback @CashRewards

  • Just remember you arent getting much battery life wise on these dragon ridge chips, these are only worse than intel based gaming laptops nowadays but thats not saying much as neither would net you over 3-4 hours on realistic workloads

    • It depends on the laptops specs, because it is meant to compete with Raptor Lake HX. Notebookcheck review of the 7945HX indicates that it is faster and more efficient than Raptor lake, 13th gen, HX.

      • More efficient wattage wise doesnt mean the battery life is good mate, these desktop chips have pretty high energy usage even when nothing is going on. The separate dies certainly doesn’t help.

        • As I said mate it depends specs of the laptop.

          • @shellshocked: no it doesnt mate? No dragon ridge laptops have good battery life this is proven by reviews-even notebookcheck themselves. Its basically the same issue as intel chips- too high uncore wattage usage and it doesn’t matter what other parts goes in a laptop because these arent the main drainer to the battery life.

You probably mistaken the dragon range chips with phoenix ones maybe? the latter still have good battery life because they are still the good old ryzen apus not the desktop-chips-binned-for-laptops

    • More so the GPU as the power suck rather than the CPU. No?

  • How's this laptop compare to the intel version with the same GPU? about to pull the trigger on the intel version for $2499.

    • +1

You would be paying more for less. Intel gets smashed this gen. Gets thunderbolt support and nothing else that would really matter

      • ??? This model drops thunderbolt.

        • then all the less reason

  • +1

Cash rewards 11% till midnight, $2023 not too shabby 👍

  • Is the deal still there? I'm getting the full price
