Any hot tips on a good brand for a magnetic phone charger cables? Something that is practical and will genuinely support fast charging.
There's a million options online and they all say "fast charging" or "3a" but in reality I've been burnt too many times. Just want something decent for use in the car as I don't have wireless charging anymore.

With the inherent risk, I would be cautious to plug my $1000+ device into such a sketchy plug.
I bought a whole set but gave up on them - the magnetic hold just not as strong as I expected them to be - and I have so many cables/charging points even after spending $100+ it would only cover half these options.
Ebay's cheapies work for me: Be reallistic, buy enough to have matching redundancy and prepare to clean them and eventually after 2 years replace them.
I've been using SIKAI Magnetic Cable from Aliexpress for all my old Micro-USB Devices, but haven't tried their USB-C though.
Its not just you. They are inherrently flawed.

For cars, best approach is a cradle with usb plug. Or if you use wireless, keep it away from direct sunlight.
Simple 2-wire magnetic connectors can work, but that will not give fast-charge over usb-pd. The designers never allowed for it. Perhaps the idea was considered, tested and rejected. Why do no major brands offer this? Just randoms on Aliexpress.
