Note: Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Actual wireless data throughput and wireless coverage are not guaranteed and will vary as a result of network conditions, client limitations, and environmental factors, including building materials, obstacles, volume and density of traffic, and client location. Use of Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Wi-Fi 6E, and features including OFDMA, 1024-QAM, and HE160 require clients to also support the corresponding features. Seven 160MHz channels may not be all available in the 6 GHz band in some regions/countries due to regulatory restrictions.

    Underpowered because UK right?

    • Yes underpowered. The fun police in the UK ruin everything. TVs too.

UK routers are not a deal

  • Ewwww.. half max speed 5hz (2402) band and half max speed 6hz (2402) band
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0B42GCD76

compared to a proper wifi 6 (non 6E) router with

    160mhz channels and quad band..
and max speed 4804Mbs on the 5GHz band..
    https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asu…

Unless I am reading something incorreclty..

Does this matter for the average joe that doesn't have 5Gbps internet connection?

      • +2

It's the wifi speed that's half, and thats theoretical speed so in the real world it's way less than 2.5gbps. Yeah average Joe won't care but that average Joe may as well buy a $150 router locally.

      • Average joe doesn't need a 250 dollar router or 6e. Any 100 dollar one that's gigabit will do or just get one of the million that's on facebook marketplace for cheaper/free.

    • Thats not how throughput on routers work.
4800Mbps doesn't mean max speed is 4800Mbps. It means there are 4 concurrent streams of 1200Mbps. So this router has 2 streams of 1200Mbps at 5Ghz and 2 streams of 1200Mbps at 6Ghz.

      • hmmm..

isn't only two concurent streams of 1200Mps at 5Ghz not great
when most support four streams at 5Ghz

Esepcially if you are backing up or transferring data via wireless..

be fine for web surfing etc and videostreaming.

    $283 @ TGGC.

  • Would 6E even work here?

    • +1

Only if you've had the microchip jab

    • Why wouldn't it?

      • Has the 6G band already been released for consumer electronics here? Last time I looked it hadn't, but may have changed since.

  • UK stock, underpowered, would not recommend.

  • What about this model?

It seems excellent, according to its name, at least…

But again, UK models have crippled wifi strength, so it’s usually better to look elsewhere.

  • UK routers are junk for AU.. dont bother.
