NordVPN: 96% Cashback (Uncapped) for New VPN Plan Customers @ Cashrewards

570

Another cashback increase for new customers at NordVPN. Offer ends Monday 11:59pm AEST.

Be sure to check the terms below and TA's handy tips here

Special Terms

Cashback is eligible for new NordVPN customers only.

Cashback is eligible only on NordVPN plans, and not on any up-sold products such as NordPass & NordLocker.

Cashback may be ineligible if using codes not listed on Cashrewards, and ineligible on any payments made with Crypto currency.

Cashback is calculated and paid on the advertised cost of the plan only. It will not include any GST, taxes, credit card or PayPal surcharges.

The amount that tracks to your Cashrewards account may differ to the paid amount due to international exchange rates. Your initial payment is converted to USD, then converted back to AUD when reported to us. The advertised cashback rate is based on the reported amount, not the paid amount. Cashrewards has no control over this process.

  • Does anyone know whether the + or . trick on gmail works for tracking cashback as a new user?

    • +1

It does - Last time a deal came up I used +nordvpn and thanks for your reminder, I checked my balance and I had $119.74 waiting for me!

    • +1

Have used + successfully (years ago).

    • +2

      What trick is it? Thanks

      • +4

        [email protected]
        [email protected]
        [email protected]

all go to [email protected]. They're aliases.

You can add a . wherever in your address before @ and you can add whatever to your address after a + and before @.

Works only for Gmail, allows you to trick most websites like described above and occasionally causes problems - I have one app blocked, because its maker doesn't seem to allow + in email when reminding password (yet I could register with a +). And as you can see in my examples, the one with + is not recognised as email and not formatted into a link by OzB (not harmful OzB's bug).

      • +2

Gmail email addresses ignore full stops, so if you're [email protected], then emails sent to [email protected] or [email protected] all reach you.
To anyone else, they look like different email addresses. Obviously to us they look similar, but when you're signing up for an account on a web site it will see all the addresses above as different.
You can do similar with "plus addressing", which is where you do something like [email protected] - it still comes to you but it's seen as a different email address again by the web site.
The downside is remembering which email address you've used for each web site.

        • +1

But then you pay using your actual PayPal login email address. Doesn't cause any conflicts / issues?

          • +1

@dealmaker: @dealmaker: My wife and I have our own email addresses, but only a single PayPal account between us. We've never had issues with PayPal and the web site account email address being different.
There could be a site somewhere which is fussy, but I've never found one that cares.

  • +2

Trying to browse to this deal via NordVPN, and it seems cashrewards blocks their IPs, the irony.

    • It will also cause your cashback tracking to fail.

      • I went through the app and it didn’t track my purchase.
Followed the instructions in previous posts as well.

      • NordVPN, or SurfShark, or ExpressVPN…

…which one do people recommend ?
(my paid sub just ran out)

        • I haven't used any. Personally I don't see the need for them.

          • @Clear: Why?

            • @dealmaker: Why do I need it? I'm not trying to get around geoblocks and it does little to "privacy".

              • @Clear: Oh never mind then.
I thought you knew what it was.

Cash rewards rejected my nordvpn claim from the last 96% promo. Only just realised and have queried it.

    • +1

May I ask what was their excuse? (I've never been a nord customer tempted to get it but don't want to sting by rejected cashback, if I take 2 years straight)

      • Waiting for their response. First time it's happened to me. I used a new email too

  • Does nord give captcha when using goggle like pia

  • Brand new to Cashrewards, do I literally just make an account and sign in, hit "go to deal", hit "shop now" and proceed as normal? No need to link anything to make sure it tracks?

Edit: Any recommendations on what tax country I should use?

    • +1

Uganda, Antarctica, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Samoa, Nigeria, Yemen, Iraq, Hong Kong, Afghanistan - Basically non-capitalistic countries. Ones where there is lot of corruption, civil war, protest, violence, not much civilization etc (cannot go wrong with such countries)

  • How does this compare to PIA? I've used PIA for 5+ years at least now, and I've been getting frustrated with it recently not working properly on MacOS (frequently won't connect to a server, or does connect but web pages don't load). Also have to do a ridiculous amount of I am not a robot picture quiz things when trying to search on Google.

    • +1

PIA's windows client at least seemed a lot less bloaty and sluggish (especially when changing endpoints) than Nord's has been to be honest. Plus I seem to get SSL errors breaking sessions with Nord frequently on certain sites, which I never got with PIA (though most sites work fine). Speed is fine also.

You're going to get frequent CAPTCHA checks from Google and the like with most any public VPN provider though, no way around that besides setting up your own box overseas or something on a dedicated IP.

  • Dammit I renewed a week ago.

    • +2

Why in the heck would you renew any VPN service without cashback?

      • There were no cashback deals at the time. I got it discounted though, $140 for 2.5 years

        • +2

Then you just wait. $140 for 2.5 yrs is expensive!

    • +4

I think they offer 30 day refund

  • +1

I bought surfshark last deal for cheaper than this. Nord own surfshark and it's pretty good. I'm happy with surfshark. I'll keep alternating between the two every 2 years with new emails for new customer deals.

    • Can you please check if you can download videos from BBc iplayer using surf shark vpn?

  • How much does this work out to a month or year?

    I did a rough workout if its 7.95 a month - 95% =.40c
a month is that about right?

  • So have to choose tha basic plan that is 3.99 per month at the moment? 107 for 2 years plus 3 months?

    • does this cashback track on all plans

although the basic seems to give what most people want

  • Anyone know if this works with Kayo abroad?

    • +1

I just used an Australian server (but I'm in Oz) and it works. But the app could use location/phone sim carrier.

    • not sure about nordvpn, but pia didnt work when i was in NZ. I was however able to watch nrl by going through one of the FTA apps.

  • 100% cashback via Top with another post

    • would have gone with them definitely but $0 signup bonus so a no for me rn

      • Yeah yeah kinda disappointed but looks like they are not new so don't expect much for them to change

  • Last few times it hasn't been 96% more like 86%

That's using a US, taxfree address.

  • Any idea if they ever offer longer than two years?

  • Went through the app but doesn’t show it tracked
Annoying now need to get money back and try again

How long does it take to show?

    • Mine tracked in around one hour.

  • Tried twice and it’s still not tracking my order.
    Last time I use CR

    • And sounds like your first time. Tracking isn't instant and can usually take a day. Does it show in your click history?

  • If you add Dedicated IP to the plan will that add to the cashback?

    • Read the OP. It clearly states …..and not on any up-sold products

  • I'll wait for 97% or 98% at least till November when my surfshark expires

BTW what plan is 100% cashback available on

Complete or Plus or Standard or any of them ?

  • +1

    Paid AUD $156.53
    Used Bahrain so no GST.
    Tracking at $145.47

    Thanks Clear
    👍

  • Is any of the plans or is it just the standard one you can sign up and can you do 2 years ?

Sorry about the noob questions !

  • It seems cashrewards curently have a problem with sending sms verification while withdrawing to bank account.

    Tips (for what it's worth):
    * Once subscribed, ensure to turn off auto-renewal to save getting hit in 2 years time with full fee. It is done in your account via: Billing -> Subscriptions -> Turn Off Auto-Renewal.
    * If you used a Credit card for payment, there doesn't seem to be a way to delete them. I got around that by adjusting payment method to be Paypal. Then log into Paypal and remove Nord as a linked account from there. This will prevent payments from occurring.
    * While there you may as well adjust "Notifications" via Account Settings -> Notification preferences.

    • Did you pay through PayPal directly or pay through credit card then change to PayPal?

Couldn't seems to find PayPal options

      • Paypal was not an option on checkout however is an option for Auto Renewal. In turn adjusted to it as a method of removing Cr/Card details.

        • 👍 thanks

    • Here's the direct link to Billing -> Subscriptions -> Turn Off Auto-Renewal.

  • A rookie question. I have already used NordVPN once with an email address.
I am sure that I have to use different email address NordVPN site but can I still use the same CashRewards account which I used for the first time?
Does the cash back still get approved?

    • Yes it's fine. Just make sure you use a different email address with Nord so that it is a new account there.
