Macap M2E Domus Coffee Grinder - Black - $649.00 + Delivery ($0 MEL C&C) @ Talk Coffee

70

This is a very decent price on the Macap M2E Domus. It is the electronic timed dosing version of the popular Macap M2M.
It is a great little 50mm flat burr grinder with stepless micrometric adjustment.
After a quick search, most other Australian retailers have this at $799.

If you can make it to Northcote, Vic. according to their Facebook post: "Arrive in person with cash and you’ll get 500g of our finest to dial in with as well."
I can thoroughly recommend both their 'Shed Shandy' and 'Urban Phoenix', a nice little bonus worth $26 if you're picking up and paying cash.

  • Easy to clean as well as a bonus

  • Man, my second Breville smart grinder pro just died…. not buying another as they seem to be shit. But this is a bit exy for my wallet, any other suggestions?

      Kingrinder K4

    • You're not going to find a lot in the price bracket between the Breville and this worth looking at, but always a popular option is this fella:

If you want to prioritize grind quality (and build quality) and are happy to forego the timed dosing:

The Eureka Mignon mentioned by @Pipersaurus in Manuale/Classico/Silenzio form are available for around the $500 mark,
The Macap M2m (like the grinder in this deal, but minus the timed dosing) is available from Alternative Brewing for $479 at the moment.

Both will give you a noticeable improvement in the cup, while being a significantly better built grinder that should last you for many years.

    • I'll look into the Eureka, Thanks, guys. It's a shame there isn't anything around the $350 mark. My BES920 also just died and was thinking of replacing with the Bambino seeing as I already had the grinder…. shame it happened to die at the same time.

      • what happened to the BES920?

        • I purchased it second-hand about 7 years ago, I've had to replace parts on it several times and there have been things wrong with it that I've just put up with like the shot timer doesn't stop. I've replaced the whole group head assembly at the end of last year and the rubber gasket about 2 months ago but it still leaks and has to be turned way past the usual position now just to get a half-decent seal. It's had a good run.

This is popular and cheaper from Espresso Coffee Shop. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/769644

I got it from them and it arrived with UPS within 5 days.

    • Like mentioned above, the Eurekas are built like a tank but will cost ~600$.
If you're looking for cheaper, the fellow opus and the baratza encore ESP can be gotten for ~350$.

    • I'm not a coffee aficionado but I'm aiming to get the Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder for our coffee needs. Not sure on it's capabilities for espresso as we have a moccamaster and for pour over users, this seems to be good value grinder for under $350.

      • Ive read its more of a pour over grinder

      • The encore ESP is probably what you're after. The esp stands for espresso

    • Or have a look at the baratza sette range. The 30 can be had for quite cheap, the 270 is usually much cheaper than the eureka.

  • K3 push is a good grinder a little cheaper

tall coffee has bad google reviews for after sales support. I will pass - no deal.

    • Awwwww no!

I’ve been a customer of them for many years. Very happy with their after sales service. And no I don’t work there or are connected to them in any way.

      • +2

Agree with this, I've been a long time customer and service there is fantastic.

    • This is utterly false.

I'm looking at their reviews right now on Google, and they've got a 4.6 star rating from 91 reviews. This is a great score.

+1 for Eureka Specialita frequently sub-$600 delivered from Espresso Coffee Shop.

I went from a Macap M4D to Specialita and no ragrets. Latter has has almost no grind retention, small footprint, 55mm burrs and its quiet as far as grinders go

  • This or spend around another $400 AUD for a Niche Zero?

    https://www.nichecoffee.co.uk/products/niche-zero?variant=39…

    • Different use cases I think: this one is a standard grinder (so the hopper is meant to be filled up) while the Niche Zero is made for single dosing. While you can probably use this for single dosing, it may not be ideal especially if its not zero-retention and suffers from popcorning.
