130

Up to 75% off RRP + Extra 20% off. Valid online only, until 18 May 2023. Excludes gift cards & items marked as Hot Buy. T&Cs apply.

Also, saw this at the local store this evening. They have quite many Baccarat products on clearance. If you are concerned about this brand, Baccarat has been awarded the 2021 Award for Customer Satisfaction for Cookware. Just ignore their RRPs then they are good for home use for the sale price.

Be aware that there could be cheaper prices elsewhere i.e. $160 Baccarat iD3 Tora Japanese Steel 7 Piece Knife Block @ Robins Kitchen, while $60 @ MyDeal

Edit: Seems the promotion is still on, so I removed the expiry date.

Baccarat has been awarded the 2021 Award for Customer

    context

    • A bit of conflict here. Where am I missing?

      • No conflict… just not sure I'd weight the canstar award too heavily when considering a purchase.

Brands must have received at least 30 responses to be included, so not all brands available in the market have been compared in this survey. The brands rated in this survey are listed below in order of best overall satisfaction.

        1. Scanpan
        2. Baccarat - 4⭐
        3. Coles
          4. Anko (Kmart) - 4⭐
        4. ALDI
        5. Tefal
        6. Big W
        7. Woolworths
        • If you read here Baccarat was rated #1 which is kinda conflict.

I added this point because some comments from my previous post seem against this brand which is different from my personal experience.

          1. Baccarat - 4⭐5 in quality
          2. Anko (Kmart) - 4⭐3 in quality
          • @bcYield:

            was rated #1

Recent award has them ranked lower.
If you follow the canstar ratings anko and Baccarat rated 4 ⭐overall.

A minimum of 30 ratings out of 600 polled by a market research survey is still not something I would weight heavily in a purchase decision.

            • @randomusername2017: Survey on the brand —> passed
              Price on the product —> [ ]
Reviews on the product —> passed
Personal experience on the product —> passed

So, it's a pass for me.

If you visit the store right now, you will still see the #1 award banner all over their store. so confusing. Did they conduct the survey twice with 2 outcomes and in the same year, 2021?

If you follow the canstar ratings anko and Baccarat rated 4 ⭐overall.

You need to look at the sub rating, 5 and 3 in quality are a lot different.

Canstar Blue research finalised in October 2022, published in November 2022
Aussies rated Scanpan best in Canstar Blue’s cookware ratings

                .

Here is the previous winner of Canstar Blue’s cookware review:
                2021: Baccarat

                .

Once category winners have been determined, the winning brands may have the opportunity to license the award logo for use in their marketing for a negotiated fee

They're paying for it so they might as well use it for the full 12 months.

You need to look at the sub rating, 5 and 3 in quality are a lot different

Have you ever participated in a market research survey?
It would be fair to say a majority of those polled received some incentive to participate… some may have even heard of baccarat… some may have even purchased baccarat cookware… a majority probably neither.

                • @randomusername2017: Okay I assume there is a typo with the year in the logo lol which is supposed to be 2022.

Have you ever participated in a market research survey?

We have to assume the survey is trustable otherwise it would be pointless for their work. Yes, it is costly to get a trustworthy survey. How did they do it? Only them can answer.

Also at House. Which is exactly the same website pretty much.

So its like Kmart saying they're knocking X% off the RRP of Anko products.

    • Yes. This 70% off cookware always sounds fishy. Why would any manufacturer take 70% off a good product?

It means it cost 10% of the price to make the item in the first place.

      • Yes but we are better buying during clearance rather than spending on normal prices. Not sure how often this kind of sale is. Have they been lower or any better options?

        • Yes but we are better buying during clearance rather than spending on normal prices

Yep, fool.and their money….. Although a fool would actually have trouble paying full price in the first place.

Not sure how often this kind of sale is.

Every week. Haven't you ever past one of their stores? Clearance, stocktake, day ending in Y

          • @M00Cow: happens that one of their stores is right at the food court where I go to regularly and don't think they do clearance weekly at least not when I've walked past

    • prices are bogus, RRP is over inflated significantly and then have specials a week later. Knife set was $1149.00 and is now $399.00. A week later it is 91% off and now $60.00.

Pretty much sums up the marketing strategy across the global brand group…

  • Prices are somewhat jacked up. If you don’t need anything urgent, I’d wait for better offers.

  • Baccarat - got a couple of knives from them a few weeks ago. Took them 1 week to ship and 2 weeks for them to arrive. 1 set was missing - I then had to get in contact with them to find out where the rest of my order was to be told they didn't have the stock - but didn't bother telling me for 3 weeks. Stellar customer service!

Only positive thing was the refund was done same day.

Now I see the same Japanese knives they didn't send me are on Mydeal for the same price of $60 lol.
