So is that normal price?
It was 40% off apparently.
AIRJO40 (-$22.36)
Damn, just got a delivery of Sumatra this week, would've used this to try out some different beans! Will this deal be a regular occurrence, like the 40% off?
Tried the Sumatra yet? if so how is it?
Wife prefers it out of the 3/4 she's tried thus far. Not as bitter as some and good Crema
Thank you, I have had their enterprise blend and found that lovely so keen on trying this. I have tried lime blue, Inglewood etc and to be honest none of them have been that much better than airjo. Airjo has the upper hand in the delivery dept though as my previous orders came the next day
The Sumatra is great, not much bitterness or astringency, and nice nutty/roasted notes. I happily drink it both black and with milk. Haven't tried any of their other beans yet.
Overpriced. Twilight is much better in my opinion and a lot cheaper.
Not a fan of this. Had it the last deal, find it too acidic. Not sure why
After buying beans exclusively from Airjo for quite a while, I've been trying a few others just to diversify. Suffice to say I ordered another bag of Sumatra yesterday.
I don't even know how to react to that besides a big screw you. I'm simply providing my positive feedback for the company in this deal and get called a shill?
I have done the same, I have tried lime blue, Inglewood etc and the Ozbargain fave Aldi. All i have found to be quite similar and although nice coffee a tad underwhelming , and am trying the Sumatra Blend from Airjo after having the Enterprise blend previously. The price and speed of delivery is a positive for me.
with chocolate upsell… couldn't resist that and ordered another two kilos to freeze after receiving my Sumatra order today. No idea about the chocolate box size, but hope it's worth the advertised $15.95 (Almond Hazel Heaven + Macadamia Medley).. Thanks!
It seems the chocolates are either 180g or 200g from the photos.
Got my very first order in the last deal & express post was exactly what I needed. Took a b#oody week:(
I had to go get some supermarket beans (which turned out to be rubbish)
To be fair though not their fault, more likely Aussie post
Which supermarket beans did you buy?
I’ll have to look at the pack. Can only remember it was red & white or something.
Sumatra is my goto blend. Great coffee..! I even gave some to a barista friend without telling him the brand and he said it was top notch. Which was the validation i was after :)
Thanks OP. Placed my first order for a Sumatra coffee bag
I really like the Columbia beans if anyone wants to diversify
How do you keep 1kg bag fresh? Me and my partner only drinks a cup per day and 1kg last for a month or so, by the time we are on the second half of the bag it's noticeably stale.
Freezer. I have a filter coffee machine and burr grinder set up. Keep bag in cupboard until opened (usually a couple days to 2 weeks from receiving), then once open keep in freezer.
The coffee stays fresh. I usually get through a bag every 6 weeks (lone coffee drinker in the house)
Divide the 1kg bag into ~ 5-6 airtight small containers. You can leave them inside cupboard. I have Breville coffee beans container with one-way valve and it works good.
Big glass jar with lid in a cool pantry is what I do.
Give half of it to me. The last cup you make will be twice as fresh.
If you have a second cup each per day, the issue will disappear!
Divide into zip lock bags or ideally vacuum sealed bags then put in freezer eg 250g lots. Allow frozen beans to come to room temperature before opening bags for use to avoid condensation as moisture adversely affects the beans. Keep room temperature beans in mason jars.
Do beans out of the freezer still keep as long sitting in the hopper?
By that I mean going mushy or moldy rather than just stale which I'm sure my beans do these days from sitting in the cupboard.
Beans go stale due to oxidation and degrade due to humidity and light, so best to minimise by putting into air tight container in the cupboard. In the hopper it will be exposed to humidity and light so won't be as fresh. Whether you get mould will depend on the humidity in your house but I've never seen roasted beans go mushy. I normally weigh and single dose my beans.
@42: I haven't had beans do that either from sitting in the hopper or clipped bag. But most other foods tend to be "changed" after being frozen so wondering how beans go in that regard like a week (or two) after being taken out of the freezer.
@dufflover: On one of the coffee forums, they did a comparison of frozen beans and fresh beans and most couldn't tell a difference. I initially made the mistake of putting my beans in a mason jar and freezing it and taking it in and out of the freezer as I needed it. That apparently cause moisture to get to the beans from condensation so the beans tasted flavourless after awhile. So now I bring batches to room temperature before opening the sealed bags.
Any of these better for filter?
I like Sumatra
Seems to be the one most mentioned here. Ordered
What is the best to drinks with Milk?
Milo.
Ordered, cheap & dependable.
Unlike another seller, that sold oily beans and has vanished!
Bought a bag of Stargazer, despite ordering a bag of Sumatra last week. Oh well, I drink a looot of coffee, so shouldn't be a prob.
@AIRJO CoffeeRoasters You should do a sample pack with 10 x 100g bags containing all the roasts. Otherwise it's too easy to find a bag that we like and just keep reordering the same one over and over. I'd love to try them all, but don't want to be ordering large bags of coffee that I potentially won't drink. Just a thought.
Some roasters offer sample bags of 250gm, 100gm won't be practical to brew/try nor economical to produce.
Was just about to make the same comment regarding the sample packs.
The risk for the roasters is that a customer spends a chunk of money on one or two blends, doesn't find them satisfactory, and gives up. If they had tried them all they might have found the perfect one.
Which blends works best for an immersion cold brew?
I've done it with Columbia, which is my usual "hot" brew also. Smooth!
I usually get the sumatra (40% off) bean and its great. Any other suggestions for someone who drinks Latte style?
twilight is good too.
Tried the Enterprise blend in the last sale and was very impressed. Have ordered Sumatra this time.
Also interestingly this deal stacks with the $10 off chocolates bundle offer, so I got a 1kg Sumatra and a bag of choc coffee beans for under $36.
I shoulda read the comments before ordering :(
Based on all these ongoing deals, looks like I’m better off cancelling my subscription as I’m paying more that way
Literally just bought a coffee machine on the weekend, so that's excellent timing
i struggle with these deals as i want a sample pack, your likely to get more customers buying from you if you provide pack
Wow thanks for listening and providing us a great deal on your other blends!!!!
Just bought some Sumatra Beans and Chocolate combo, $37 delivered is an absolute bargain! Thanks for the deal :)
the roasting date should appear under the "WHOLE BEANS" text…
I got the Sumatra blend. It is marketed as a light roast, however it is one of the darkest roasts I've had. I can't get the burnt taste out of my mouth. I will not be purchasing again.
If this is what they call a light roast I can only imagine their dark roasts are literally pieces of charcoal.
Aurgh ordered yesterday for $33.54, where's my 54c!
Nah but these guys are my go to, ordered yesterday midday-ish and its due to be delivered today.
