    cant go wrong for $20

You can actually. They break very quickly. Missed keys and double keys.

      Confirming.

My escape key broke after 1 month of use.
Key switches feel like ass too.

It's a short-term consumable keyboard at this price point, just get something a little more expensive, otherwise you'll just be paying twice

    • I purchased three quite a while ago (perhaps they've since made design and/or manufacturing changes) but they've been quite reliable from a typing perspective. However, the RGB lighting was a bit dodgy on one of them after a while (i.e. some of the individual RGB LEDs were out of sync). At the time, I believe they were approximately $29, so can't complain.

    • mine after a year of moderate usage still going strong. Have
brown switch in office and blue switch at home.

Bit of a hit and miss..am on my third one now in 2 years ..anyways tx OP..got one as a reserve

  • Is this a real mechanical keyboard as it seems too cheap

    • +1

It is. Mine's lasted 2 years and was $19. I'm not complaining.

Got a corsair K100, wonder if this can even be compared to it, if so might get 5

        • nah, if you already have a decent mech kb, stick with it or get something higher end

    • Yep, they're great for the price

  • Nothing wrong with mine 3yrs

    Thanks OP
Grabbed one as a back up. Paid double that 2 years ago and still going strong.

  • Mine had problems with when you hold down 2+ keys at the same time, some combos didn't work. Then after a while one of the keys would only work sometimes.

I liked the way the keys are raise, it makes it easy to clean without pulling the keys out.

  • I got both brown and blue switch versions of these Kogan TKL fixed colour USB keyboards a few years ago. They have been in daily use and are good given the price. Not as good as the legendary Amiga 2500 keyboards made by Cherry. 😉 My main use is coding and writing text. No gaming or anything that would involve aggressive keyboard bashing.

I have a slight preference for the blue switches as I am slightly more accurate with them, but the browns are very usable too. I applied a tiny amount of low viscosity lube to the brown switches and they are very smooth. A little bit of wiggle on the keycaps, but at these prices that's nothing to complain about.

I like the minimalist floating key design as it makes it very easy to keep the keyboard clean. Just tilt it forward/upside down and give it a shake or a tap. Alternatively use a cutting-in paint brush to move any dust that adheres to the sides of the keycaps.
