Thanks for the feedback, posting deals for the first time.
6ah batteries seems pretty sweet. My big boi ryobi batteries are 5ah. I have a 4 and a 2.5 too. Havent seen 6 on ryobi though they do have some other form factor ones I think.
Ryobi have had 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 9.0 Ah sized batteries, maybe others too.
9.0Ah sounds nice but it must weigh a tonne
According to the Ryobi site it’s 1.23kgs
@mapax: So one milli-tonne
.
That's a pretty good deal for brushless AND big batteries.
If you check the AEG website they'll almost certainly have redemptions available for this kit, either extra batteries or extra skins.
No redemptions on this kit.
Any views on the quality of AEG?
I understand they used to be good, below Makita/Dewalt/Milwaukee but above consumer grade. The name is used under licence now though so expect they're not up to their past reputation. For a home user this is a good deal though.
Bang for buck, I'd go with Ryobi
I have an AEG cordless drill (brush), hammer drill and driver, angle grinder and blower and love them, amazing tools, lots of power. Only had one battery that's died after a few years. For home/diy I think I would have gone the Ryobi direction for the cost and range over all, but Ryobi wasn't in their One+ phase when I bought the AEG initially.
Better then ryobi. They are from the same company that makes ryobi and milwalkee so AEG sits in between them. Known as rigid in the US.
Buying kits at these prices means you get good tools and batteries at great prices.
Ive got a heap.of their tools and for serious DIY they work great. Not a tradie so cant comment regarding day in day out usage.
Picked it up for $400 with a hand written price tag a month or so back.
Mainly for the batteries as i already have all the tools. But now i have spares and can run different discs on the grinders as well.
But its a good kit at this price.
These are the older model.
I have the newer varient. Very happy so far..
The Ryobi HP are ok too, they have a replacement warranty, unlike AEG, which is return for repair etc.
I had the AEG Jet blower from a redemption, sold it though as i preferred my Ozito two battery blower.
I also have the 18 AEG Fusion hedge trimmer. Excellent bit of kit.. Better than the new Ryobi HP 36v hedge trimmer.. i miss the sweeper accessory of the Ryobi though..
might want to put the brand in the title.
