My blue pool leds have been coming on for 8 hours a night for 7 years, haven't noticed any issues?
I have at least 5 failed on the Pro over three years, and a quick check on reddit shows it is a common problem*. Doesn't happen to everybody, but is bloody annoying for those it does happen to (mine was two years out from purchase, and I didn't fancy a protracted ACL battle over funky keyboard lights - millions of colours, provided you don't want blue apparently).
blue LEDs die over time.
won't they all die, over time.
For a premium keyboard at $350, they should last a hell of a lot longer than they do (a reasonable person would expect the leds to last as long as the rest of the keyboard). I've got light bulbs with better longevity and had a backlit laptop keyboard that was still going strong at 10 years.
Steelseries cheaped out and people should know before they buy.
Like I say, the rest of the keyboard is great. Just don't rely on the leds being there in the long term.
I just got myself a keychron k5 v1 , love it so far. seems pretty sturdy for about $150
Can confirm, 4 keys in 2 years no longer displaying blue.
Alright, who's out there paying $589 for a keyboard? That sounds insane.
Half of that is still too much….
Even 349
same for everything…..more insane is paying 350$ for a gaming brand when there are infinite custom choice out there….
Not many choices with hall effect switches which is the appeal of this board.
I guess inflation has no effect on buying a keyboard at this price.
Mech keyboards can get really expensive.
seeing 319 from a few other retailers, ebay/scorptec.
Yep $318 on eBay
$302 if you buy 4+ lol
so what does the US layout mean, whats the difference to the normal? Or is the one we usually use here in aus the US one already
yes, common is US. the UK layout is typically the one with the Enter/return button that takes up two rows. some US variants also comes with gun holster and ammunition tray. North korea layout has nuke button right next to the delete button (who puts the power or sleep button right next to commonly used keys!?). Irrespective of layout type, I suggest everybody look closely at the keyboard layout before buying.
I look forward to the day when i feel I can now justify a $300 keyboard.
i got TKL Logitech one for just under $300 and its the best keyboard ever, as I have a work station as well i connect to my laptop with Bluetooth and lightspeed for when on the main pc all with 1 touch of a button - battery also lasts weeks
Obligatory warning that the blue LEDs die over time.
(It's a lovely keyboard other than this).
