Better spend little more and get a proper macpac entry level jacket that actually works anf looks great
Unlike the others, I don't see anything wrong with this jacket. It's just a simple, cheap down jacket. Going to entry level Macpac isn't going to make any difference.
The Macpac has 90:10 duck down instead of Kathmandu 80:20, i.e. practically the same. And the Macpac has 15% less down overall. So from an insulation perspective, both are minimal and both are budget. For indoor wintertime use, both are fine. For walking around outdoors above zero, both are fine.
As long as it fits, brands don't matter, it's what the jacket is made from and what you plan to use it for. For Oz conditions, you don't need to obsess too much.
I would agree but Kathmandu is anti consumer and doesn't cover their warranties. Buy anything else and support decent companies.
