Cabbage. Providing it was my final day.

    • +2

Ground hog day would be a reverse uno here

  • +1

Variety is the spice of life , love me some ribs, but would probably get bored after a while.

    • I'm a rib lover too.. not long ago i had a 4 week streak where i ate slow cooked home ribs at least twice a week, 1 week was 4 times. By the 4th week it did start becoming a little boring.

  • +3

    My Mum's chicken soup

    • +8

      Kajke's Mum's chicken soup

  • +3

Bubble & squeak. Ditto for leftovers the next day.

  • +4

I want to say kfc zinger box but I’d prob be over it within a month.

    • +7

      Either that or dead.

      • +19

Technically still accurate for the poll

        • +2

          The best kind of accurate

    • I'd probably get over it after two boxes. Back in highschool, could've had them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Now, I feel like I'm actively dying eating the last few bite of one box.

      • nah i can still smash 2 boxes easy, but yeah the body aint what it used to be for sure…

  • +10

Garlic bread is my favorite food. I could honestly eat it for every meal. Or just eat it all the time without even stopping.

Seriously though, maybe pizza. You can make it savoury or sweet, healthy or unhealthy. Can even make keto fat head pizza if you’ve eaten too much garlic bread in the past and got fat…

    Suggested French Omelette

I think I could eat a French omelette every day for the rest of my life. Just beaten eggs with salt and pepper, cooked in a pan for like 20 seconds with butter, and looks like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXPhVYpQLPA and should be slightly gooey/runny inside after it's folded.

You can spice it up with fillings like bacon, cheese, or add some herbs to the egg. I used to eat fried eggs every day but I like this omelette better. And it cooks quicker.

    • "Suggestion pending - waiting for moderation" huh

      • Probably Francophobic poll policies. And I didn't submit it twice but it is there twice. Okay now it's there three times, I don't know what is going on. Scotty must have been sleepy when he programmed the poll function….

    • @AustriaBargain thanks for sharing.

I love eggs, and this is amazing.

I had a second go today - non-stick yesterday and stainless steel today - and getting better at it.

Link for those interested in the writeup / webpage.

      • +1

Non stick is what Julia Child recommends. I think Julia Child recommends 2-3 eggs in an 8 inch pan with curves sides. I've been using a 20cm pan with three eggs but I probably could go with a pan a little bit bigger. Pan needs to be quite hot to cook it very quick, but not so hot that it browns the omelette at all. Shake the pan in a pulling motion towards yourself and to quicken cooking scrape at the middle of the omelette while doing that with the back of a fork to form curds. Some recipes call you to lift the omelette to have the uncooked egg run under it, or to just keep shaking it, I think it really depends on how much egg there is in the pan. And don't be scared of it being a little runny on top before folding, it will cook a little longer when you take it off and result in a creamy finish.

Watch YouTube videos, they cook so quick that they can demonstrate it like three times in a minute.

    Smorgasbord.

Where is rice and soy sauce for all the new economic troopers.
I'll add a car is better than a tent .

  • +2

Poll is missing "none of the above" and "all of the above"

    Suggested GYG Mexican

    GYG is yummy

  • +14

I always view paella as misleading.

I like watching it made. I enjoy how it looks.

But then I start eating it and it's just a shitload of rice with a little bit of topping.

    • +2

The feeling is mutual. Paella in Spain itself was also dissapointing.

      • Indeed

    • +1

Yeah people always hype up their national foods. For me, Korean BBQ and Brazilian BBQ are top tier

    • +2

The paellas I've had are super-flavourful with LOTS of yummy toppings (for me the more spanish chorizos the better) — I guess it depends who's making it for you!

  • +2

Yeah Pizza is the hack move for this thought exercise because the assumption is you can switch up the toppings. There should be a restriction on toppings in the fine print here.

I vote pizza if the hack loophole is open, bolognese if not.

    • bolognese pizza Yum

  • +1

Vegans may not agree with me, but I could do steaks forever!

  • +6
    Suggested Kfc chicken

    Kfc

  • Pineapple fried rice from Archi's Thai

  • +5

Tacos are love, tacos are life!

    • Have you had a proper taco though?

      • Been home cooking my way through the taco Chronicles and its Cochinita Pibil all the way.. No cheese, sour cream or any of that American stuff. Just slow cooked pork in the most amazing flavours ever with some picked onions on home made tortillas. Chef kiss.

  • +5

    Bowl of gruel.

    • +1

What is gruel? Like a bowl of suffering?

  • +9

Sandwiches are pretty versatile (assuming you can change flavours) so maybe that.

    • I would go for the vietnamese pork roll.

  • +2

If pizza with any variation of toppings is allowed, I’ll go with sandwiches.
Having to eat a sandwich everyday would be no hardship, the spectrum of fillings and toasting options are unlimited.

  • +1

    Sandwiches.

    • Prawn sandwiches whilst watching football live. Only for home games of course

      • +4

Look out, we’ve got a Dees supporter in the comments

        • They probably live in Fitzroy or Brighton.

  • +3

    Hot chips!

  • +3

Hamburger. Cheap, simple, fast, covers all food requirements (fight me, it does). Easy to vary without difficulty. Cook on the BBQ and hardly any washing up.

  • +6

Lasagna, Garfield had it all figured out.

  • +2

    strawberry jam sandwiches …

lived on that EVERY school day for the entirety of my primary school years (+ some of my days at high school too).

    • Oh tempting to try that again

  • +10

Does dim sum count? Could go for the steamed, fried, braised, buns, dumplings, congee, dessert.

  • +3

    Mango

    • +1

      avgolemoni…. the REAL MVP

  • +3

Greek salad. Love it. I make it in roughly a 1 kg batch, usually gone in a day and half, or less.

But burgers or sandwiches would do the job.

  • Guess pizza is winning with 20 votes…

  • +10

    Chinese fried rice.

    • Don't forget with sweet and sour sauce!

  • +2

Dal bhat if I were Nepalese.

    Suggested Baked Beans

Baked beans with boiled eggs, cheese and lebanese bread mixed together.

  • +2

    Poke bowl.
It's a generally balance healthy meal.

  • +3

Coffee. I WILL be drinking it everyday for the rest of my life.

Technically, it's a form of bean soup!

    • +1

"Bean broth" sounds way more 2023 hipster though :)

    Suggested Fried Noodles

Fried noodles. Char Kwai teo is a firm favourite but honestly any good tasting fried noodles. Thin egg noodles, thick, with gravy or a drier sauce, even simple hong kong style plain fried noodles.

    • +1

This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the topic! When I am in Malaysia I literally have it every day, never get tired of it

      • +1

A true brother. Seriously when you get that balance and a good blob of sambal on the side, that's heaven calling! I'm finally getting half decent at cooking fresh fat rice noodles in our cast iron wok but man, it's an art form.

    • +1

I love a good Penang Ckt. Somehow every place in WA just does "fried" "kway teow" which doesn't even come close to the real ckt :(

    • Yup to this one, Lees Malaysian Kitchen originally in the Wynyard Arcade Sydney, made a char kwai teo with satay sauce that I'd eat every day if I could get it :-)

  • All you can eat sea food buffet.

  • Buttered toast.

  • Can’t go wrong

  • +4

Having spent time in a Romanian gaol, I have grown accustomed to gruel
