I havn't tried Philips before, but IPS WQHD 144HZ,only $319, should be a good deal.

Likely has the minute row/column of pixels view angle issue similar to other panels

    Really?

  • Is this a decent monitor? I managed to get one, but don’t know if it’s any good. Mostly need it for work.

See reviews for the AOC U34G3X - likely identical performance. (AOC and Philips under the same parent company, MMD Display)

Damn that was cheap! Missed out for oversleeping on a Sunday.

    • +2

I bought it, but not sure if I want it. I may be able to sell it to you for cost price. Haven’t done my due diligence if this monitor is any good.

      • +3

Yes sure, let me know if you want to sell it.

        • is this similar to the xiaomi 34" monitor?

          • -1

@pinkybrain: Specs are similar but no reviews found.

            • +2

              @dealhunter52: also notice

              • the xiaomi is VA panel, this one is is IPS
              • xiaomi is curved, this monitor is not curved..

not sure if that makes much of difference
but usually people get curve ultrawide for better gaming immersion and image looking less wash out

              • @pinkybrain: You're right! I missed those points you mentioned. Positive for being IPS but negative for being not curved.

                • +1

@dealhunter52: yeah, it makes sense now why this monitor is ultrawide IPS 144hz and cheap price for those specs..
if it was curved it would be a lot more expensive.

In regards to the image being less wash out..
probably it might be more of an issue with VA than IPS screen..
though I am not sure how wash out VA it would look in real life.. probably not as bad as it seems

It is probably the gaming immersion that is the biggest factor for ultra wide screens.
Don't see many people buying non curve ultrawide.

    only 21:9? weak

    • +1

      what do you want?

      • +7

69:9 sounds like a good number

        • +1

would you sell your soul for 66:6?

          • +1

@pinkybrain: the temptation may be too great, free delivery from evil cannot come sooner!

  • Best priced monitor so far this year?

    • +1

I wouldn’t do it at 300, you’ll be feeling inferior missing 700 pixels vs 4K for years and years and wanting to upgrade

how else are they going to sell those monitors

      • -2

        it is 4k

        • +2

4K is 2160 pixels high sir

    • +1

      accurate current price

would go for an OzBargain at <$250 right now!
