Thanks op, I love these olight deals

    Worth the shipping?

1.5 inches in length, weighing only 16g.

      Not sure its worth it

      • They're really bright..i assume the red is the casing, but it has 4 colours available. I use it riding at night and apparently it's quite visible.(I have it cycling thru colours, which attracts attention).

        • At 4lm , I doubt it as my rear lights when cycling to work are normally 65lm and it is just enough.
This one at most will be just a complimentary light to clip onto your backpack or jacket for extra visibility.

          • @bnh: Fair enough. I have them on my helmet, and backpack. Motorist tell me it's visible and know it's me. What catches their attention, is the red->blue->green cycling colours.

But that's my practical experience in a rural area. I don't have a lumen meter, but at night they're bright & noticeable.

            • @M00Cow: The spec is listed on Olight page. 4lm 😅

If you want one of these style lights, olight are worth the $8

    • +1

Maybe, if you have a use for it.

I found it good for lighting in a tent, and I also like having one just because. Not as good as an OBulb, but different use generally.

I'll probably grab another one just for postage.

      • I have a few already. I'll probably get one for a gift.

Something to consider: On last deal mine required signature on delivery, no option to leave unattended. Special trip to PO for a $8 torch was bit annoying

    • +1

      Ditto

    • So you suggest not using one of the 24/7 parcel lockers if nearby.

      • parcel lockers are the way to go. got two orders from two accounts shipped to the same parcel locker address.

  • My go-to cart padder, the olight lanyard is OOS. Will need to find something else to buy. Don't want to spend too much either.

    • Also waiting for restock. Has been out of stock since last 'free' promo.

    • cart-padder….to reach the free shipping threshold? What else are you buying?

      • I do quite like a lot of their stuff but I guess I feel paying for the shipping just to get a free light isn't making the best use of that $7.95. I really like their lanyards and it's something that I like to just have extras of. I like to just grab 1 or 2 of those, or like a spare headband. I don't want to be in the situation where I really need another lanyard or have to buy something by itself just because it broke. As I'm already paying for postage and that a lot of the items I want are discounted during these promos means it makes sense to just buy them now before I may actually really need to buy them.

i've got a couple of their lanyards….they have a satisfying squish to them.

    Shipping kills it

Nah it's worth the $8 for sure, as long as you want to be more visible at night. I chuck it on my dog's collar when walking in the evenings/early morning, and wear a headlamp myself.

I got the last one of these, as posted recently, in green.
Clipped to my CamelBak pack I wear while riding enduro, single track, adventure and group rides off road, ony motorbike.
There's two types of light….to see, or be seen!
This is definitely a 'be seen' type and if it helps me on my motorbike, then it's a winner.

  • Got one the last time but wont bother again. Was going to clip it to the bike jersey as an additional safety measure but its not very bright with a relatively slow flashing rate to bike lights so isn't very noticeable when used in conjunction with my existing bike lights.
