It appears that the fun may be coming to an end. I recieved the following message from one of their support agents after trying to 'port out - port in' recharge method.
I can process this now as a one time courtesy and need to asked for an approval, but to set your expectation that we can no longer do this moving forward. You must make sure to recharge your service through the app or online or purchase a recharge voucher, is that okay? We already got a notice from the management that we need to follow the correct process for sim activation and recharge process. We don't need to port the number for when we say port request it is a transfer of number form another provider to Boost and not form Boost to Boost.
They did it as a "once off courtesy" but I assume this will end.
Thoughts? I am planning on moving anyway as the benefits of telstra network arent as evident in metro areas.
I was told the same. That it was no longer possible to do it via chat. They told me to activate the sim with a new number, then call to cancel existing boost number and change it to new sim. I have not done this yet, so can't say if it really works or not.
