Owned by Singapore Airlines, so make your own conclusions from there!
After my cheap flight with Scoot to Singapore, was chatting with Singapore Airlines pilot. He said the planes were repainted SA ones with seating changed. Scoot are great value.
Written on free WiFi at a basic resort on Perhentian Kecil island in North-East Malaysia - $6/n in airconditioned dorm & got all-you-can-eat cooked breakfast for $3!
They don't fly from Melbourne. Pity
Awesome.inline with uni holidays and the F1!!!!
But return in $18x !
thats where they make their money lol
Can't see any fares for late dates
$37sd??? Whoa!
Flew with these guys last month from singapore to Gold coast. Food was crap but everything else was fine, left on time and arrived ahead of schedule. Would definitely recommend them if you're looking to fly with a budget airline.
There's food??
$10 for hot meal
Took my own food. Just took carry-on (hot here, so easy to pack light - even for my 7 week holiday) & didn't select seat for cheapest travel.
Was seated between a guy from Singapore & woman from Melacca. As those were my first destinations, I got great inflight travel & food advice.
Pretty good deal to fly back on Monday 24th Sep just after the Singapore night race. Can anyone please help me with the deals from Melbourne/Sydney - Singapore on 21st September???? Really tempted now to go to the F1 night race.
on another site I'm on a guy has pre-booked flights which coincide with the F1 and nearly every hotel is completely booked out and all he could find was a 3 star hotel in 'Little India' so check your hotel availability before you buy flights…
I have friends in Singapore I can stay with. So accommodation is not a problem. Thanks for the concern though.
You can search on Gumtree Singapore to stay at a room in a local flat.
Or couchsurf. Easy.
Flew with them 3 weeks ago and the flight was great both ways from GC to Singa and back again, the food was fine, just try and remember that this is a budget airline, a super cheap airline and for $13 your get a choice of sandwiches or Lasagna or chicken biriyani and rice and a couple of other dishes, you get small bottle of water and a container of fruit…it's as good as you would expect for such a barebones flight.
Be prepared for the odd yobbo or bogan(is there a difference?) taking advantage of the uber cheap airfares. We had two groups of obese beer + wine swilling couples who were loud, who were rude to the young hosties and after a complaint or two was made they were told to return to cattle class and to please be quite, great adverts for the Australian way of life and attitude.
Like the above poster says: "Would definitely recommend them if you're looking to fly with a budget airline."
Agree totally
Yum lasagna and wine! Sounds like a good flight to me!!
Is that Singapore airline?
It's the cheap arm of Singapore Airlines using former Singapore Airline retired aircraft which have been refurbished. The same as Jetstar is the cheap arm of Qantus
oh i see.Thanks Luc.
Singapore airline also has another budget airline called SilkAir
SilkAir is a regional airline, not a budget airline. Like QantasLink is to Qantas.
Not travelling to Asia, only from.
SGD $100 for one-way SIN to SYD is pretty good though, if it suits your schedule!
Don't see anything for $78 at this point though.I imagine the OP converted it to AUD.
SGD100 is about AUD78… actually it's about 76 now according to currency converter
Seems like they're all gone by now.
Argh! I spent more than that just in change+service fees to rebook flights from Sin->Syd on Qantas! For the date I need I could have flown Scoot for SGD200!
As others have said, Scoot is no better or worse than any other budget airline. Just be aware that you'll be spending 7-8 hours in a seat with no entertainment so bring an iPad/tablet or try and sleep (seats do recline).
They actually have in-flight entertainment now, but you gotta pay for it. I don't know how much it is but you're essentially renting out a tablet from them for the duration of the flight.
S$20 on return flight, so under $15.
The return flight is a red eye and the meals are terrible. Probably don't have to worry about having a meal on the return flight but on depature grab some Maccas to take on-board.
Because maccas is haute cuisine? Take a sandwich and some fruit.
Which is probably expensive. There's a Maccas at Syd Airport in the departure area. The Scoot meals are practically inedible.
Yeah the 2am flight is terrible.. I would definitely get a seat with more leg room next time. The leg room is non existent on the standard economy and on top of that had the guy in front of me had the seat reclined through the entire flight. Also if you don't want to pay for the hotel for the last night then you can book a room at the airport for around $60.
Assume that is Sydney bound flight. To Gold Coast I have 22:25 departure.
Seems like all the flights are sold out…
flew a couple of times…not too bad for a budget airline or for that price….food is crap byo dont expect good food on a budget flight…
Return flight is a hedious…2am but on the good side u get to spend your time shopping, eating or partying till 12am and head to the airport after…
I concur that the 2am return flight is horrendous. The good thing is that if you pace yourself properly, you can pretty much sleep throughout the whole flight - making the journey more bearable. I would have boarded the return flight in my PJs if I could.
PS: For the return flight, keep in mind that the shops and food & beverage outlets at Singapore Changi Airport close at midnight in Terminal 1 and 1am in the other Terminals - so if you intend on bringing food on board, grab something early.
My GF just flew to SG and back on scoot. She said they are great, also they arrive at the normal airport in SG not the budget one which is a bonus.
Just a heads up for those looking at going to Bangkok with these guys, was playing around with dates/ prices and noticed a few times there would be a 12hr or 33hr wait on transfer from Singapore to Bangkok & thats time spent in an airport yeah? Whoa thatd be painful
33hrs?! Reminds me of that movie where Tom Hanks is stuck livin' in the airport…
return tix from singapore to sydney is - $600… so where is the deal ??? (dates were 21st - 23 sept)
never heard of these airlines but price seems good, i'll book now and check later
