Koofr has been around since 2013 and has been recently mentioned at https://www.cloudwards.net/understanding-cloud-storage-prici…
Stacksocial is the only way to obtain a lifetime offer of 100/250/1000GB at Koofr as this offer is not advertised directly on Koofr's website.

Koofr supports WebDav which integrates very nicely with linux rclone for backup purposes.
I believe the servers are hosted in Europe.

    My life or their life?

Ask yourself, would you believe a company promising you a life time supply of milk for $230? No of course you’d be suspicious.

This is no different. Hosting data has on going costs that cannot be covered by a business with a single once off payment.

There are many popular platforms that offer once off payments

I agree with all the comments about the (lack of) economics of lifetime supply. But I think in this case, there is a viable reason - storage becomes cheaper over time, while storage demand grows. 1TB today will feel like 100GB in five years. By then, these plans become obsolete (or cost them pennies to maintain), so they steer you back into their regular plans by not offering any incremental expansion options. It's really more a 5yr deal in practice.

But still, I am wary of storing any critical data in a lifetime account from a cloud provider that isn't AWS/Azure/Google (from a longevity perspective).

  • An MS365 sub is vastly safer. Doesn't appear as cheap to begin with, but will be safer for data that actually needs to be secure.

It’s been proven time and again, that it’ll tank, it might be one year or five from now but companys like Zoolz and all the others have gone under.
As they get more desperate they’ll push out the pyramid referrals to get more income to keep the lights on.
But it’s not sustainable, if everyone has a lifetime subscription how can they pay their providers that bill monthly?

Anything else is just wishful thinking and it’s not worth your data.

Just sign up to Google or MS 365 via turkey

100% with MS 365 - I think its the best value product right now esp with Family subs.

With regards to "But it’s not sustainable, if everyone has a lifetime subscription how can they pay their providers that bill monthly?" - they are basically taking a gamble. A lot of people who subs to these lesser known cloud providers are less tech savvy, and unlikely to actually use up their quota. For every 5TB subscribed, they might only need to actually reserve 1TB with their upstream providers. As time goes on these accts either are forgotten and unused, or the users find they max out and the only way is to switch to a fully priced non lifetime plan.

And yes I do agree most of these just fold after a few yrs.

  • for life, UNTIL THEY CANCEL IT lol

Moore's law suggests that soon enough 1TB = nothing

Found a 10TB plan on the same site for $99
    Definitely a gamble
