Rode Wireless Go II Wireless Microphone System $319.20 Delivered @ digiDirect eBay

180
DIDI20

If you need/want to rid yourself of the wires and move about during online meetings (Zoom, Teams etc.) or while recording videos (tiktok, youtube, facebook etc.) the two best options in the market are:
Rode Wireless Go II
DJI Mic

Rode Wireless ME is the new kid on the block, but there are tradeoffs and it might be a better option if you think you will never need to record more than one person.

Rode Wireless Go II has been cheaper in Jun'22 for $278 and Jan'23 on eBay for $296 and also in Jan'23 on Amazon for $300

I've been waiting for it since June'22 and for some reason totally missed the price drop in Jan'23.

Rode Vs DJI is a topic for another debate and there are pros and cons for both. The Interwebs is full of that, but I think for Australians it makes much more sense to go with Rode Wireless Go II because of $120 price difference currently.

Yes, Rode might require one to buy an accessory or two depending on your specific needs, but that's a choice or a decision you need to make. I settled on Rode and bought it just now.

Buy it from DigiDirect on eBay for $319.20 (eBay Plus not required, use coupon code: DIDI20)

  • For some weird reasons I need simultaneous output (i.e. both USB audio and 3.5mm/TA4F) on the receiver. But never able to find out if Wireless Go II supports such use case. Anyone know?

    • I think I saw a YouTube video last night where someone used a splitter to split the output of the receiver into two. It was for a different wireless system, but I don't see why it can't be done for Wireless Go II.

      Hope this helps.

      • Well, because of the use case (told you it's weird :P), one of the output has to be USB audio. That's why I'm asking.

        • Couldn't find info on whether you can use multiple outputs from the unit, but what's the use case?

I'd be surprised if there wasn't a way to work around it for your use-case if the unit didn't support simultaneous multiple outputs.

      • I don't think so, pretty sure usb is just for charging and data transfer. The 3.5mm out is also mic level so you can't use headphones to monitor the sound if that is what you are trying to do - it needs to go into an amplifier / audio recorder etc.

I've borrowed these previously, and did this exact thing - had it connected to a laptop for streaming using the USB audio interface, but was using the 3.5mm jack to monitor it with some headphones.

      • Now it would worth a try. Cheers mate

      • Yeah this works.

    • Sounds easy. I can help you rig something together. Shoot me a DM.

If you have a lower budget, Check out Synco G1 A2. Cheapest I can find for a 2 receiver, normally only 1 for that price.

  • does anyone know if there's a cheaper option suitable for insta360 for car content creation?

    • I don't know anything about insta360, but if you're after a cheaper wireless lapel mic for use inside a car and would be okay with fewer features, check out Rode Wireless Me for $183.20

      • Or this SmallRig Wave W1C for $102.40 if that suits your needs

      • is there a way to check how good they are at picking up engine/exhaust notes? I know absolutely nth about microphones.

  • waiting for iii comes with charging case

    • I hear you. I'd been waiting for almost a year to either see a v3 released or v2 to go cheaper. Decided to bite the bullet.

They released v1 in Apr'19, v2 in Feb'21, v2 Single in Jan'22 and they recently (Apr'23) made a big announcement advertising v2 firmware update as one of the items. My guess is that v3 it's not coming this year.

Will be crying down the street corner if it comes out soon :D
