  • 128GB option is 1309 on Apple Website, 256GB is 1489.
Better off with the 15% Apple GC to buy from there.

Even with regularly available 10% Apple GC better to buy from Apple Direct. Plus they include Apple Care for 2 weeks free of charge.

I thought all the iDevices came with free Apple Care or is it only for purchases made directly from Apple?

      • +1

I believe only devices direct from apple store.
I think you can purchase apple care separate within the first 2 weeks, someone please confirm or correct me

        • +1

Im pretty sure theyve changed it so that all Apple devices get apple care complimentary for 1 week, as they cant upsell you immediately on applecare subscriptions.

Update: The change in policy is due to new requirements for add-on insurance like AppleCare+ in Australia. Under the new regulations, there is a mandatory four-day pause between the sale of a product and any add-on insurance for that product, so Apple is providing seven days of free AppleCare+ coverage to span that gap.

        Apple giving free stuff?

maybe when hell freezes over lol

    • Where does it say 2 weeks? I checked their site and it only offers 7 days.

      • should add the link here

Apple Care for 2 weeks free of charge.

is that actually useful for anything since this is a new product
and still covered under warranty and ACL?

      • Yes still covered by warranty and ACL, that is called AppleCare.

The 7 day free is AppleCare+ which is a premium insurance subscription.

so AppleCare+ main benefit for the 2 or 1 week free trial is they give is

-unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection

and up to two incidents of
          -theft or
          -loss coverage every 12 months.

Basically in the 1 week of the free trial
if you accidentally damage it, someone steals it or you lose it
they will replace it (without much hassle)?

Can't someone can exploit this and "lose it" or sell it
          and get another one?

          • @pinkybrain: Apple care for iPad doesn’t cover for loss, only damage. They do with iPhone though.

But given the ability for them to brick a phone, there’s not much use it “exploiting” this

          • @pinkybrain: You still have to pay for it

            • @ATangk: pay for what?
              you mean the device?

but if someone "lose it", ie someone they know could keep it, so 2 for 1 price

              or sell it
can get back some money which makes it cheaper than any deal

I'm getting $1489 for the 256gb ipad pro 11 inch on Apple Education store, not sure of the normal apple price

  • +2

"YIPPEE10" code does not work :O

  • Hi guys is there any way to claim back gst travelling overseas when buying from EBay?

    • make sure you have the tax invoice or ask the seller to provide one.

  • I purchased a 6th Gen Ipad Pro 12.9" 128gb through Officeworks last week. They price beat the Apple Education store (was not expecting this), so it came down to about $1650. I'm able to salary sacrifice one laptop/electronic tablet a year through my job so this tablet will end up costing me about $1000 out of pocket. My plan is to sell the tablet once a new model comes out and then do this whole process again. That way I'll only pay the difference between the cost of the new salary sacrificed model and whatever I can sell the old one for.
