Nice to see Westpac giving people some of their $4B profit.

    Looking at you evil CBA.

    • damn evil banks forcing people to use them

Well when banks and govts fails you, there is now an alternative to move to crypto:

        • +9

yes crypto is very trustworthy and totally not a scam

          • -5

@[Deactivated]: Contradictory to a scam when you have the world’s largest hedge fund Blackrock investing in crypto.

@ilovefullprice: There's money to be made by speculation.
There's money to be lost if nobody wants that crypto (and no amount of pegging to currency or anything else can change this, if you fix the price and nobody wants it then it just sits there unsold).

End of the day it's all a game based on the curious behaviour of humans. And humans like to try to justify their actions with one eye shut. I'm jealous I didn't make millions, but I'm not silly enough to justify crypto as a fundamentally sensible asset.

                @justtoreply:

                pegging to currency

And that's totally not a scam as USD is totally trustworthy and they always look to put others' best interests above achieving strategic objectives and controlling countries via sanctions.

              • @justtoreply: I am unaware of a Blackrock investor prospectus which says their investment in crypto is speculative. Could you direct me to it?

          • @[Deactivated]: Banks and tens of billion dollar profits every half is a scam as well. It should never have got to this.

        • +1

And just like that, a sea of red today on the crypto exchanges.

          • -2

@GregRust: Stablecoins are not red. In the future, there is potential for govt issued stablecoins which can be held in self-custody crypto wallets when banks have failed you.

    • +2

on that note, anyone got conned by cheddar?

      • Lets see if @getcheddarapp is still around and responsive lol

      • Well, Westpac have already teamed up with Shopback in the cashback space.

Again, looking at you evil CBA.

  • not targeted. Bummer.

  • is this valid for gas bills as well?

    • Energy should be electricity or gas. I doubt Westpac would know what you are paying anyway.

  • No email received

  • Waiting for them to target me 🎯

    • Are you worth being targeted?

      • +1

        No, I’m a poor man

  • No email received..

  • +1

Not targeted but I got the card after 1 April

  • No email 🥲. I have a direct debit set up in. 10 days for gas bill which will go over 100$

  • My apartment is with altogether……

  • I wonder how many got the email.

  • LOL, use one of their credit cards and see your undies drop.
To all CBA bashers this one is not better!

  • Westpac Velocity Black - didn't receive an email :(

    • That's a credit card, not a debit card, no?

  • did not receive

  • Got the email but only got AGL for gas bill for less than 70 dollar per 3 months. Damm WA

    • +2

You can still pay $100, your AGL account will just be in credit for $30.

  • Does this include ActewAGL?

  • +1

How many times can you use it per card?

I loved supplementary cards and the momentum and tangoenergy offers of years past. So much free energy!

    • Participants may only redeem the Offer once.

  • +1

Email still coming in it seems. Wait it out

  • Received my $30 yesterday, only a week or so after paying the bill.

  • See.. If you have accounts at the big4 banks at least and transfer money regularly between and avoid monthly fees, and rotate cards/accounts for shopping and bills to possibly receive these targeted emails - there are also other discounts peoples can get too.
