WFH/Gaming Ergonomic Chair Recommendations

Hi everyone,

First time poster so please let me know if I have formatted wrong etc :)

So I have been working from home more and more and have noticed my Anda Chair (for context was about $600 1.5 years ago) is starting to peel but is also causing me substantial back problems even after like an hour of sitting down.

I would love some cost effective ergonomic chair options, especially if you have purchased and can sit for 8 hours a day without pain. Ideally something that also has a foot rest, but if there are other options for that I wouldove to hear :)

I tend to prefer to lean back when I can, but in general I get a lot of lower back pain, so a chair that can remedy that issue would be incredible!

    Buy a Herman Miller Aeron (assuming you try it and like it)
    12 year warranty as well.

    Some people don't want to spend that much (definitely wait for a sale), but I think it's better to buy a chair that will last rather than keep on buying cheaper chairs that need replacing much quicker (like your $600 chair that needs replacing after 1.5 years).

      Seconded. I went with the Embody last year, haven’t looked back.

      Like Apple, prices and sales are determined by HM so if you can, hold out to EOFY and you’ll get a couple of hundred off.

    get a grandma arm chair or rocker chair.. it is the best for a nice big screen set up and you just type on your lap and use the arm rest as your mouse pad.. it is great for long sessions and just everything from gaming to netflix to discord sessions .. honestly i could sleep in this but my bed is comfier :)

    I like my JÄRVFJÄLLET from ikea but recent reviews say it’s noisy… idk maybe my tolerance is high

      I find this chair supportive in the right spots for me - unlike most office chairs. It reclines nicely too. Not convinced it would be suitable for shorter people.

    Don't buy a gaming chair.

    Get a second hand Haworth Zody ~$300
    Second hand Herman Miller Mirra ~$500
