Actually received two separate emails from Kogan, First email received at 8:14am shows $69 price, and the second email at 8:45am shows it $59, I think they decided to reduce the price or could be just one of their marketing tactics. Ah well, good price though.

Mod: Kogan is currently out of stock, but you can still order for 14 Sept dispatch.

  • Buyers beware.

If you want a cheap indoor ip camera with poor colour video then get a cheap one on eBay, there are 100's to choose from. If you are lucky it will work for more than 6 months!

BUT I have a Foscam F8910W (bought in Australia from a dealer) and I would definitely pay the extra for the colour quality, better wifi reception and firmware upgradability.

  • so would that setup allow anyone access to your camera's stream, or can you password protect it?

    • It's a little more complex than that.
You will need to "open" a port on your router to allow you camera to be accessible by the outside world. This in itself creates a vulnerability to your pc.

Yes software such as Blue Iris has configurable users and passwords. There are levels for view only, and others for administrators.

  • Hi has anyone who bought this camera managed to control is using any android apps ?

  • +1

My Foscam F8910 can be managed either via a web browser on my Android Asus TF300 or via an app called "tinycam monitor". Do a search in the Playstore for ip camera.

You will need to configure the app with the camera ip address and port number. You will likely need some IT skills so work out what these parameters are. A little confusing part is the there are two ip addresses for a single camer. One for use "at home" usually in the format 192.168.x.x and one which is viewable outside your home (starts with a different number depending where in the world you live).
