    Error

    • +3

The only error that I see is the colouring scheme of these nike racers

      • My size is always OoS!!

  • +2

Last Melbourne marathon heaps of people had these shoes in this colourway. I though they looked too much online, but in person when running they look good

  • +4

    can't checkout

colorway is fire, kelvin kiptum just smashed the london marathon in these

    • Can't checkout either

We had an issue with your request. If you continue experiencing issues, try refreshing the page.

edit: going to View Bag first worked

      • +2

i managed to place an order using paypal on my mobile

  • I think it's a ghost product. This colourway doesn't come up when you search for "Vaporfly" on the Nike website.

    • I own these unless I'm misunderstanding your comment

      • Nah, I made the comment when the item wouldn't appear in the cart for check out, and couldn't be found in their search function

  • +2

Arent these only good for runners? As in not great for just walking etc?

    • +11

Not a walking shoe at all.

      • +5

Whats the difference? Why cant a running shoe be used for walking…

I used to love walking with Nike Shox (runners with suspension like rear)

        • +10

There's a carbon plate in the midsole so they're a lot stiffer

        • +11

Not sure why you are being downvoted. Its a valid question.

The drop on these is pretty high & the foam super soft and unstable for walking. You for sure can walk in them, but it feels weird, and wouldn't feel great over any sort of distance.

Once you start running though it feels a little easier than normal and you get more bounce, so for me more distance per stride. Essentially you run slightly quicker for the same effort as usual, or can run your usual pace with a little less effort.

        • +1

Yeah its a valid question and people downvoted you. Walking in running shoes is actually bad for you.

"When walking, your feet follow more of a "rocking chair-like" motion, says Paulina Kelly, global product marketing manager for walking at New Balance. "Your weight rolls from the heel, through the ball of your foot, and continues to the toe." That means walkers benefit from shoes that are flexible through the ball of the foot to allow for that rolling motion, support through the arch where the force of the foot striking the ground is heaviest, and all-over cushion. Walking in a running shoe, which often has less cushion, could lead to impact injuries like plantar fasciitis, stress fractures, and Achilles tendinitis, says Splichal.

If you are just into the casual run then cross trainers may be more suitable.

          • +1

@jonow83: "says Paulina Kelly, global product marketing manager"

Heel striking while walking which she describes is just as much incorrect walking form as heel striking while running is.
Cushion is not required at all, its just a nice to have and something we have become accustomed to.
Interestingly to me at least is Splichal who is the rest of the quote is actually a barefoot advocate.

        • These are a racing shoes, great performance shoe but poor durability.
I used to race in Nike sock racers in the 90's. Fast but I only got about 10 racers out of them and then I chucked them. Sole and cushioning would break down

      • I like the look of these, but I don't run! I want to buy them, but I was relaying the info because I read it's not suitable for walking.

      • -5

It's a wonderful walking shoe, I don't understand why you'd think otherwise. I even wear them to work

    • +2

These aren't every day running shoes either. Pretty much exclusively race day shoes

      • +1

Yeah, that's why I wanted to confirm and also let others know.

    • Rated at 700kms durability as well? Most of these shoes with thick foam soles are around that.

      • I would use them up to about 400k. You will lose the benefit of the foam pretty quickly. Great as a race shoe for say 2-3 marathons, then use for threshold and speed sessions.

  • +1

Not sure what is going on, tried in multiple browsers and the cart is breaking on these shoes.

I managed to get a cart working, and then when I added these shoes I am getting this error :

    Error
Sorry, the product you have selected is not available at this time.

    [ Code: B9671077 ]

So apologies, if the deal doesn't go through.

    • It is working but some sizes aren't available (it doesn't display properly on the website). For example I can currently add a Size 7 and view in the cart, I can then select the drop down to see other size options and then proceed to checkout (unforuntaly my size isn't available).

  • Vaporfly 3's just came out.

    • +1

I’ve got the 2’s currently would rather get 3’s than this colour. Good price though

  • Thanks, just ordered some , no issues checking out. Didn't need them, but always good to have a spare pair!

  • +4

you will look super fast at your local parkrun.

I prefer to just wear my Flash costume and have 3-4 other guys also wearing Flash costumes behind me running behind slightly slower than the last

    • +4

Do you need volunteers for your scheme? We'll be tiktok famous fo sho

    • +1

bigbang theory ref. I see what you did

  • Pretty much worked for me. Pulled out as didn’t want that colour but using PayPal seemed to do the trick.

  • +1

Worked for me…but how did you find this deal? Doesn’t show up when you search Vaporfly as others have said

    • +4

I keep my eye on a bunch of shoes (got like 50 bookmarks), and have had these bookmarked for a while.

  • Had issues through "Member checkout" but worked well with Paypal.

  • +2

These are made for racing. Unless you are competing, I would suggest you stick to normal running shoes as these won't last long on constant use.

    • Agree. Although my OG 4% vaporflys lasted about 700kms, when I normally ditch my shoes at about 400kms

    • Prepping for Sydney in Sep.
      My 1st Marathon
You think it's worth it getting it and bring it out in August to break them in?

  • +1

shouldn't check Ozb. now i just bought one

    • i share this sentiment

  • -2

Order went through with Paypal just now, lets hope they dont cancel!
Would they resell quick on Depop once the deal is over ?

  • I personally hate my vapoflys. Have all kind of pains in them. Still have amazing old 4% and absolutely adore alphaflys although

  • +1

Order fine, size 10.5 via paypal no issues.

  • what a bloody find, my knee is still funky at best, but it'll be good for race day. Cheers big man.

  • adidas Adios Pro 3 completely dominated the recent Boston marathon podium. Maybe that's why Nike is putting those on sale :)

    • -6

Could be because the vaporfly's are actually banned for competition use due to the carbon plate being TOO efficient in running economy

      • Nah.

According to this Runner's World article, Nike's Alphafly took 6th (Kipchoge), 7th & 11th in men's, and 3rd, 4th & 10th for women's in Boston last month. They are still in there, but there are simply so many brands having their carbon-plated high stack height super shoes in marathon races — Nike is no longer exclusive like a few years ago.

    • +2

wet race. the continental rubber on the adidas performed better. And EK had some kind of gastro issues. In any case the difference between different brand's supershoes is pretty slim nowadays

  • +3

Bought these for a half marathon a few weeks ago. Paid a fair bit more but worth it. Boy are they quick! Easy PB
Have to make a really conscious effort to midfoot/toe strike with these
Overall a pretty rubbish shoe for anything but racing fast. Already noted some minor wear after just a couple of runs

    • The foam gets shredded very quickly

  • +1

Kelvin Kiptum ran to victory at the London Marathon in 2:01:25 wearing these exact shoes!

    • +2

Some say he jogged to victory — in this game you sit back and let the shoes do most of the work

  • nice find! you cant search for them on the nike website. just had the error but tried a few times and ordered!

  • +1

great price for the 2's! have all versions but prefer v3 as there's more room in the toe box compared to its predecessors…

  • +1

Stacked with a voucher i had, got them for $140. Bargain

  • These are actually fantastic for walking, despite all the naysayers. I only have to walk out to fetch the post and back in these runners to feel like I’ve completed a half marathon… a workout game changer

    • Same here

  • Bought two pairs in 10.5 US. Thanks for this OP! I had an alert on these. Got one for a Marathon in Oct/other races and the other pair for training. I'd recommend against anyone buying these to just walk or even do easy/slow runs in. They're race day shoes.

    • Every day is race day in this rat race we call living. Well, except recovery day, but most people have to skip those

Not as cheap as above however more sizes available

  • boo only small sizes left.

  • Really wanted size 12 but by the time I could get anything to stay in my cart (constant site issues) all I could lock in was size 11.5, and that took me 2 hours…
Now I didn't need anymore shoes, as I still have two other sets of runners I bought from previous deals sitting in boxes, AND I really needed size 12 BUT like a true OBer I have ordered two pairs of 11.5…….
At this price I just couldn't resist.
Gotta love OB, had kept me broke for years. lol

    • just return them if they don't fit

    • If you're in Melb I'd buy one of those pairs off ya! Couldn't get 11.5 to add to chart despite showing as available

    • Same as Tuttle, I couldn't snag an 11.5 and would happily buy your other pair if they end up being too small for you.

  • Female here ;( women's just $100 off compared to the $150 or so off for men's aaa if I get these men's one will it be not so g to run in since am female or

    • +3

In these the men’s are the exact same as women’s just 1.5 size difference (so US 9.5 men’s is equivalent to US 11.0 women’s).

    • women's are B width vs men's D width (~4mm or so wider depending on sizing) but no differences other than that… you may want to try in your equivalent men's shoe size to see if it's a proper fit… i sometimes buy women's when men's are out of stock but go half a size up in my case…

      • Oooh that's perfect actually I have wide feet thanks!

E: ah (profanity) out of stock oh well rip

  • Received my pair this arvo, went half a size up and it's a snug fit (not tight). Very comfortable even just walking around (although best suited for running due to the narrow heel). Can't wait for a run in these!

  • got mine today. but sadly im size US10 but I bought U9. pm me if anyone interested. thanks

    • damn, wish you were in Sydney, i could take em

    • Nike have a 30 days returns policy, even if you have used them.
