Note: Mods have marked the post as 'Targeted' because you're technically at the mercy of customer service to get the loyalty discount (which is fair enough) but there's essentially a 100% success rate from what I can gather.

Looks like the deal got extended till 4th May. I've made a new post as previous post didn't include the 10% off details which I've explained below.

  • $50 Newsletter voucher through here
  • 10% off Loyalty Code by emailing [email protected]. Alternatively call 1300 362 603, select option 9 on first screen, then option 4 on second screen, and explain to the rep that you want the loyalty discount. The loyalty voucher is 10% off the price after trade-in discounts and before the $50 newsletter. Note: As per comments, ask for the 10% loyalty bonus because you're trading in, the 15% bonus will not stack.

As we all know selling our old device on eBay yields much better returns than sending it in for trade-in. However if you do not send in your device, you still get the trade-in bonus, but get charged a non-return fee. This fee is $60 if your device's trade-in value is more than $60, else it's $30. So what we do is we tell the trade-in app our trade-in device has a cracked screen.

Instructions

  1. Download trade up app on your trade-in device, when going through the checks, tell it that the screen is cracked. Depending on the device, it will say the trade-in value is $1. After going through this, you'll get the trade in voucher.
  2. Obtain the newsletter and the loyalty voucher.
  3. Add the phone to cart. The trade-in bonus will not appear until adding item to cart. This is also where you input the loyalty and newsletter voucher.
  4. Buy.
  5. Comment below so I feel better about myself impulse buying an S23 Ultra.

Cost for an S23 128GB: ($1149 device cost [on sale currently] - $400 trade-in bonus) * 0.9 loyalty voucher - $50 newsletter + $30 trade-in device non-return fee

= $654.1

Also remember to fill out the other bargain for getting the free galaxy buds 2 pro even though it's expired. Who knows, maybe they'll honour it regardless.

Notes
- As confirmed in comments below, newsletter and loyalty do stack. Just might have to try a few times.
- Use eBay's 'already sold items' filter to gauge how much you can get for your old device, and then sell via eBay. Always express post for a few bucks more, customer will be much happier and less likely to want refunds.
- Do not sell on marketplace, people will lowball and ghost you to death. You will lose braincells in the thousands.

EDIT: Looks like the deal got extended yet again to 14 May. I'm guessing they're moving a lot of stock which is good for them given their horrible quarterly profits.

    Anyone get the shipping confirmation yet?

    I emailed loyalty@samsung, and got a rep who asked for my number so that they can discuss T&Cs with me. Did that and got it.
    I basically paid $390 to upgrade from an S21 256GB to an S23 128GB.

    So I just finally got around trying to purchasing S23 ultra and the trade in now is 300 instead 500?? What the heck? It's even lower than the trade in bonus for S23 or S23 plus!

      • Frustratingly when I tried calling and chatting, they all pretended as if it was always 300 trade in bonus for S23 ultra as if it never changed

    • The $xxx off was extended, but the trade in bonus value had an expiry of 4/5 (and when I was speaking with the loyalty team yesterday, they warned me that doesn't always mean 11:59pm and it could end at any time on the specified date!)

        Oh godammnit it, really? A support chat yesterday did try to urge me to make the purchase as the promo is "ending soon" but they didn't say when and I thought they were just reading their script to urge customer make impulse purchase…

      I thought they said pretty clearly that the graphite one is made to order? My black one has already arrived today.

    Does anyone know what happens if you don't send your phone back?
    Like can I apply for another trade in bonus with it later? Or do they record your imei number so you can't apply using that device again?

      You're arrested immediately upon being found in possession of it because it legally belongs to Samsung. There's been a famous case of a guy being arrested for this while leaving the US (he did this with Samsung USA) and got charged for possession of a stolen item, got 6 months and a misdemeanour (their version of a summary charge).

    Has anyone had any news on if the buds will be sent?

      Haven't heard anything, but my aus post app is saying that something is getting ready for delivery, and I haven't got any more orders from anywhere.So guessing/wishful thinking that its the buds. My s23 ultra arrived within three working days of ordering, pretty happy with how quick that was.

            @sloshie: Thanks. Got mine today. 2 of them. 1 as bonus gift. Got the second 1 due to there was a small note before I made my payment saying 1 free Galaxy Buds 2. So I emailed their online support with screen capture and ask them and they agree to send me a free buds.

    Still waiting for my Graphite S23 ordered on 27/04, should have just ordered other standard colours instead of trying my luck for the exclusive colour….

      I ordered the graphite 256Gb Ultra on 4/5 noting the "preorder for 20 May". Received shipping notice on Friday 19/5, and it was delivered today.

    Received my buds 2 today, 5 business days after my lucky gift email. Purchase date of the s23 ultra was 4 day after the cutoff, but gave it a go and it paid off thanks to op.

      I got the email as well purchasing a few days after the cut off. I got the email same time as everyone else but still haven't received the buds. Fingers crossed soon, but I guess shipping takes longer to here in Perth.

      AlsobI'm curious, if you have a registered Australia Post account (ie parcels addressed to you automatically added), did the tracking for this get auto added?

        It didn't show up in the Aust Post app, they just turned up.

        I also purchased after 30/4 so thanks for suggesting trying our luck. Was a pleasant surprise!

        Thanks OP for the awesome post. You can reply their email and ask for the tracking number. That's how i know when my buds will arrive.

        I have a registered account and received no tracking. Was a nice surprise in the letterbox when it arrived.
