Projector for a Small Room, to Project to Ceiling?

I want to get a cheap, "decent" projector for my daughter who watches shows in bed going to sleep.

1) most vent heat out the top

2) most aren't set up to port to the ceiling (though they should!).

Ideas?

  • Just tape your phone to the ceiling

    • Too far. Tape a TV.

      • Might I suggest the ozbargain favourite, LG OLED42C2PSA

  • Anker Nebula Capsule.

Anker Nebula Astro Mini Portable Projector

  • Remember that most "cheap" projectors have a notable fan noise that would likely drive someone nuts if running next to their head in bed.

I'm looking for a very niche thing, I know.

My older daughter wants to be able to watch shows in bed & the room is too small for a TV (no real wall space available for a mount, etc). It's her b'day coming up, & I've been looking, but when I compare review sites, it's all over the place! She has nice Edifier BT speakers, but when I find what I think will be a good projector, reviews say there's a mismatch in sound to what you're watching and both of us can't stand that (mouth mismatch to voice).

Can anyone here recommend something from like, JB or such?

    Thanks everyone :)

    • +1

I don't own one, but Hivex™ meets the brief for inexpensive

      • Wish we had one here. I prefer local shops for returns.

        Cheers & thanks.

        • I concur, but they indeed look interesting and are free-shipped to Australla

    • Have a read of https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/768224, including my comment. Other commenters have posted options if you want something inexpensive and are happy to buy online and not from a local store.

these 2 from JB are portable, but expensive, same price as phone. Also unfortunately there is a price premium for portability, the picture quality is expensive for the price. Not to mention the Benq in the ozbargain link is actually better than both.
In the event that you decide to pay the price premium, do your own research on the sound (mouth mismatch to voice). I'm assuming it might be a non-issue since the speaker is built in. But haven't tested the products myself.

  • "(research on the sound (mouth mismatch to voice)".

Really wanting to use the BT Edifiers for sound.

Bluetooth has been such a letdown from day-dot (on everything). Even earbuds, less than 20cms apart suffer lag. That's just so crazy.

Thank you for the ideas & replies. xx
