    Not just QLD State Library.

It also works with my local Victorian library. Assuming it's even broader than this.

    • Yep - it was in the Yarra Libraries newsletter today. Registered and all very easy. No I just need to find time/will to do some learning.

  • Is this an online resource? I have registered, but couldn't find it.

I have accessed it for free through SA public libraries last year. An issue for me was when you complete a course your name isnt printed on the certificate and can't be linked to your profile

When LinkedIn bought Lynda and upgraded it to LinkedIn Learning there was a big privacy uproar from American Library Association and a bunch of other libraries/organisations, so LinkedIn basically said stuff it and removed ALL personally identifiable data. The only thing that they have now is your library card number, but they cannot access any details through it. They don't even want to have to deal with you adding your details voluntarily or linking your account to LinkedIN or any external sites.

Sucks, but it was the easiest option for them. You can always download your certificate and then add the name yourself.

      • Or they want your $50 a month for pro membership

Works with Canterbury-Bankstown Library as well.

  • Seeking some help pls.
Registered on Queensland Stste library website then searched LinkedIn learning, when I put my Brisbane city council library card number and PIN I’m getting error saying incorrect information.
I am sure the login info is correct. Anyone had the same issue or been able to access using bcc library details? Also any work around?
    TIA

Not sure if Queensland is the same as SA, but the SA State Library resources do not allow access with a Public Library card in SA and vice versa. You might need to get a SLQ library card.

    • +3

You need to use your account login details (username password) not the card number and pin.

    • state library and council library are not run by the same organization tho. you can sign up for the state library one easily. just go to the website

SA Public Libraries have this as well. Free for any members of any SA Public Library.
    Access through here

Any way to get a South Australia library card, I am not living in South Australia. :(

I hope you like emails, linked in will now send you a dozen dumb emails every week.

  • I saw online that I can sign up for the QLD library membership even if you live interstate like WA and not a resident of QLD. Will you be able to access the LinkedIn learning if you sign up to the membership interstate?

    • +2

Firstly, check to see if your local library provides you with access. A quick Google search comes back with many WA libraries that provide members with access.

    • Where did you see that? It needs a QLD address which are available in plenty on Google maps.

  • Hi all

The SLQ membership is virtual from memory once you join you should get an email with the card number welcoming you as a member. There are a lot of online services provided through the membership online. You should use the State library of QLD link to access this service access is tied to your card number, this is the same for most online subscription services provided by your local library.

As previously mentioned check with your local library anywhere in Australia, If not a member it’s well worth joining to access ebooks, eaudio to name just two of the many services offered online by public libraries in Australia. What you can access will depend upon what that library has subscribed to

  • Also available for city of sydney members too.
