24 Gillette Mach 3 Turbo Blades - $59 including delivery

The merchant/supplier is JNS Wholesale Pty. Limited. However, Proctor and Gamble say that they are not known to them.

I have sent an email to JNS asking if these blades have the Gillette Serial Number(s) on the Blade Tray(s), but they do not reply. I tried calling JNS but the number diverts to a very 'choppy' message.

However, Proctor and Gamble say that they are not known to them.

This doesn't prove anything. They could be parallel or grey imports, or they could buy the blades under a different name.

Yes, after all JNS Wholesale describe themselves as importers. However, they do appear to only import from China. Also, the pricing would not allow for buying from P&G Australia no mater what 'name' was used.

$49 deal - Say $5 for packaging and delivery. $15 for Spreets. Leaves $29 for the 24 blades and the profit.

$59 deal - Say $5 for packaging and delivery. $15 for Spreets. Leaves $36 for the 24 blades and the profit.

  • Would be good to have updates, what about asking spreets? I am intending to buy too!

I have asked Spreets - I informed them that the merchant was not replying to my message/question. I also asked Spreets what steps they had taken to ensure that they did not put their customers at risk by buying counterfeit blades.

I received a reply from Frank at Spreets, but he ignored my question and just said that buyers would receive "genuine blades as sold in store".

I therefore think that Spreets took no steps to ensure the blades are genuine, did not check if there were serial numbers, and asked no questions of their supplier/merchant.

  • Here is my message to Spreets, and their reply.

    Hi!

Are you sure the Mach3 Turbo and Mach3 Blades are genuine?

I have been asking your supplier if the blades they imported have the Gillette Serial Numbers on the Tray. However, they are not replying to my messages.

It would therefore appear that these are counterfeit goods.

As you would know, it is unlawful to display counterfeit goods for sale or supply.

Please let me know what Spreets have done to ensure their customers are not put at risk by a 'bad' merchant/supplier.

    Thank you.

  • Corrected maths:-

$49 deal - Say $5 for packaging and delivery. $15 for Spreets. Leaves $29 for the 24 blades and JNS's profit.

$59 deal - Say $5 for packaging and delivery. $18 for Spreets. Leaves $36 for the 24 blades and JNS's profit.

  • I have received a reply from JNS Wholesale.

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in our Gillette products.

Our Gillette razor blades are made in Germany and shipped from Germany. They are original stock and exactly the same stock as sold in Australian supermarkets. We are confident you will be happy with our products.

    About us:

JNS Wholesale Pty Ltd is a fully registered Australian company, which has been operating in Sydney, NSW, since 2006.

JNS Wholesale is a leading supplier of branded and non-branded household consumer products. We supply to online stores, discount stores, grocery chains, pharmacies, convenient stores, general stores and specialty stores.

    Cheers,

    Shane

Although it is encouraging to receive a reply, and the statement that "They are original stock and exactly the same stock as sold in Australian supermarkets." I must note that:-

    1) I understand Australian Supermarkets have been found to be selling counterfeit blades in the past
    and
    2) My original message to JNS Wholesale only asked one question - that question was not answered, and was in fact ignored completely.

    Hi!

Please confirm that the Gillette Mach3 Turbo blades you have imported have a serial number on the plastic tray that holds the blades.

    Thank you.

  • If this is your roundabout way of saying we all should boycott these networks, then I am sort of with you - too many hands tend to spoil a pudding and everything from underwear to now razor blades….slightly disconcerting.

I wouldn't spend 49.00 to find out. Let us see if you can generate the FB complaining like in your earlier counterfeit case the (alleged) fake CK.

  • the (alleged) fake CK.

Confirmed by the Australian distributor. So, I would no longer say "alleged".

Also, they stopped the deal very early.

If this is your roundabout way of saying we all should boycott these networks, then I am sort of with you

No need to boycott the deal sites. They should just be honest with their offerings AND they should do some basic checks before accepting a supplier.

    I wouldn't spend 49.00 to find out.

Or $59 for the Mach 3 Turbo blades. The ones I wanted to buy.

The 'hassle' of getting a PayPal reversal for counterfeit goods is just too much trouble.

If only Spreets and/or the supplier would give a 'straight' answer. "Yes, there are serial numbers on the trays" or "No, there are no serial numbers on the trays".

    Finally….

    Hi,

I confirm that the Gillette Mach3 blades we are offering have a serial number on the plastic trays that holds the blades. I have confirmed with my supplier that they are genuine products.

I appreciate your concerns and have also attached photo proof of the stock.

1 photo of the back of the packet showing the serial number and where it's made.

1 photo of the plastic trays with the serial numbers on each tray. It's a bit hard to see as they're not printed on but made of the same plastic and color of the tray.

Please don't hesitate to contact me should you have any further queries.

    cheers,

    Shane
