Agree, but why wouldn't they? Saves them production costs, and saves them from cannibalising their own game sales, as it can't be played and sold second hand.
They should have a bundle with the digital version of the console which is a win-win for consumers that want a cheaper bundle + for Sony to have users now only be able to purchase digital (more expensive) versions.
This one comes with God of War but the Sony page is just the console?
Why would you want console with no Ragnarok for the same price?

I bought mine on release day back in 2020 for $749 which means the price hasn't changed in over 2 years. Shortage of semiconductor chips and inflation should have pushed up the price.
Therefore makes this an even better deal :)
@Aussiebargainer: Not really. Your chances of selling/trading the game are pretty much non-existent since it's a digital download vs physical disc.

Just put it on marketplace or eBay, you’ll get much more than EB will give you.
I tried a sealed pro for $350 and no one took a bite. EB were doing a boosted $300 or $350 trade in last year I think.. for a used one. I gave away my sealed one as a gift so hoping I can get rid of my used one if EB has another boosted offer lol

Does anyone know if the digital game is region locked? I have a JP psn account because i play some japanese version games.
Haven't tested myself but I think it's region locked. Heck, even the freebie codes are region locked.
If you make an another user on your PS5 and link it to a AU PSN account (likely required to redeem the code) your original user account with the JP PSN attached will be able to play the game once log back in.
I was holding out for a Slim version, and prefer having a game disc. However this bundle at this price is very tempting, but I just bought the upcoming Zelda Switch so I'll have to revisit this at the next sale.
It seems like Sony is really pushing to move more units on the back of their recent sales announcement (and increased production capacity), so hopefully that means we'll see more promos and sales throughout this year

Looking back at past bargains, PS4 was $368 back in December 2015 (about 2 years after its release).
I didnt pay much attention to the ps4 era…was it really that low? I guess Sony was more willing to subsidise hardware back then
