  • Anyone know if the referral code is stackable or will void promo?

    • +1

Give it a try, the referral is the same now, that 50 USD fractional, so my guess u'll only get 1 of it, but at least, ur helping other ozbargainers to get theirs too with the referral

Direct fractional share ownership (as opposed to through an index fund) sounds incredibly fishy. You will have no protection of a HIN or voting rights, likely

    • +1

      do you still get dividends?

      what is protection of HIN?
is voting rights that big if you only got a fractional share?

    • +8

Pretty sure HINs are for the ASX only

    • +2

International shares no HIN / SRN / CHESS / ownership , no matter which broker you're with.

Don't forget $35 Cashback (currently) with Cashrewards.

    (Edit: min $50 deposit)

    • +5

Yep, around 2 months ago I stacked these offers up ($60 rewards at the time), tracked right away (not approved yet though), was able to withdraw my initial deposit right away and after about a month or buying and selling random stuff to turnover the free shares I managed to withdrawal the 50 USD worth of free shares as well. Once the Cashrewards is approved, that’s around 130 AUD for free. Not bad!

    • +1

Good luck getting cashback… A lot of negs on every Tiger cashback deal of people getting screwed over

      • +1

There are only negs in 2 deals out of the 7 posted in the last 9 months. A grand total of 8, one of which is yours, the majority of those negs aren't about missing cashback they are from people who don't understand the withdrawal process. Tons of people posting in every deal thread that they got their cashback.

        • +1

Not everyone who got screwed negged the deal. Go read all the comments of people getting cashback rejected

    • +2

ShopBack now is offering $60 cashback with min $50 deposit.

(Was $20 cashback when this deal was initially posted.)

      • I think $80 Cashback from ShopBack is the highest I've seen

        • Yeah. I swear I saw $90 on one deal one time but I now can't find that deal in the archive so I guess I imagined it.

    • Did you have to sign up through Cashrewards? How does it track a deposit?

      • Yes you have to sign up. The way cashback works is that the businesses tell the cashback company if you have met the terms of the cashback promotion they are running with them.

  • What does it mean in the referral box where it say you get a $10 voucher or 50/100 depending on deposit?

The post just seems to indicate 50USD for referrer and referee upon signup and deposit.

The future of investing (we will soon all be priced out of penny stocks)

    • +1

Pretty sure none of these are remotely penny stocks.

      • +1

        TSLA should be

        • Haha, time will tell. Elon is such a loose cannon - I don’t have money I’m willing to throw at his ventures.

  • +1

what happens if this company folds?

    • +9

You don’t get your 1c that you deposited back.

  • ive funded the account. how long does it take for the rewards to show?

    • Same - keen to know!

      • +1

mines just arrived. up to 10 business days to deliver.

      • +2

i did this a month or so back, it was about 5 days from memory, wasnt too long. i cant remember if this one made you do 10 trades before cashing out (it was this or webull, cant remember which) but if so just do 10 $1 trades

      • Personally signed up today, account approved within the hour, and now have accepted the shares within 2 hours of account activation.
You get to pick 5 out of the OP's list of shares up top, still waiting for the shares to be transferred to my account :)

    • cashrewards tracked and showing pending

    • I paid via PayID twice and still not seeing the deposit. Was yours instant?

      • +1

        Yes

      • +1

Some banks delay the first payment(s) instead of using osko

      • Not showing for me either

        • +1

Still nothing for me. I've made 3 transfers in total.

Will wait for 48 hours and hopefully it's in by then or I'll raise a ticket.

  • Yes

  • +11

    Note:

By participating in this event and receiving the rewards in your account, you agree that you will only withdraw the proceeds generated from the rewards after you have successfully completed 10 trades.

    • +2

You can buy penny stocks with free brokerage

      • +2

just a reminder in case anyone misses this info

      • What do you recommend? Lol

      • +1

Will my 1c enough for buying penny stock? Or Can I sell the rewarded "Fractional Shares Worth USD 50" to fund my 10 trades?

Or I have to deposit more in order to complete the 10 trades?

        • +3

Selling 5 free shares also counts towards trades

          • @dpk: I did 10 trades (selling 5 fractional plus buy and sell penny stock 6 times) and still can't withdraw the cash…

            • +2

@Purkulator: It takes 2 days for the sale to 'process'. Try again Thursday. When you go to withdraw and click the little "?" next to "withdrawable cash" it explains it. Interestly they let you convert the 'in process' funds from USD to AUD in the meantime. The 2 day thing is standard across pretty much all brokers/stock exchanges.

            • @Purkulator: Conversion from USD to AUD takes couple of days. After you sell settlement takes sometime.

  • Are they any good compared to self wealth

    • +2

It's the best platform for US stock trading. If you want to research the stocks etc it's desktop software is the best free software you can get.

      • If you sell and withdraw your funds does the account stay active for research only purposes?

        • Yes, this is the case with any broker

    • I paid 4 US cents to trade sell my Meta shares.

  • Signed up during the last shopback deal, but still not able to withdraw the fractional shares ( after selling it). Has anyone able to withdraw the reward amount?

    • +3

Yes. You need to do 10 trades first, so just buy/sell the reward shares a few times.

  • The referral offer also gets the referee $50 USD in shares now

  • How long does it take to for a sale to go through?

    • Settlement is 2 business days standard.

      • Is there after market sales or do I need to wait until the markets open for the sale to execute?

        • +1

Need to wait for US markets to be open unfortunately.

  • Chess sponsored?

    • +1

      this isnt for ASX shares

  • Signed up and got my free US$ 50 worth of shares all within 1 hour.

    • How did you get you account validated so quickly?! Mine says "1 business day" so I have to wait until tomorrow

      • Mine said that as well but than 1 min later got a text saying it was opened. Did you do Driver licence or Passport? Did you enter your TFN? I used D/L and entered TFN. Wasn't going to bother entering TFN but then a text box opened up asking to explain why and figured it would probably take longer to open if I don't enter it.

Maybe there was some ID checking thing that failed for you?

        • I tried my driving license at first but something was wrong so I put my passport, otherwise everything was ok i guess.
It's gonna be ok but I'll see tomorrow how it goes

          • @matheous01: not concern about these companies have your ID for some small reward incentive?

been lots of leaks lately etc.

            • +1

@pinkybrain: I guess nowdays you have to put your ID for everything so one more isn't gonna hurt, I was lucky to not have been an optus customer at least

    • How did they advise you of your free shares? I signed up and deposited Sunday and nothing
Edit - Found it, didn't realise I needed the app

      • +1

Yeah even in the app it is pretty easy to get lost.

  • Got mine within an hour also.
    Free money!

  • +2

I've funded mine twice already and no reward am I doing something wrong? How long should it take the webull one was almost instant.

    • +1

Same issue here. Their support article says could take up to 48 hours so going to wait that and then raise a ticket if it isn't in.

    • How was your Webull almost instant? I did my bank transfer last night and still nothing.

      • Not sure I guess it just went through quickly? The Tiger one has come through now it just took around 12 hours.

      • I had to wait about 24 hours too but it worked.

  • Account approved, deposit received and rewards selected within like 10 minutes. Says up too 10 working days to actually get the shares but can't complain about the lack of effort required so far

    • Shares just got delivered, Surprisingly fast compared to Webull. Now to sell at open & wait for settlement then meet the 10 trade requirements to withdraw I guess?

  • +2

ShopBack now is offering $60 cashback with min $50 deposit.

(Was $20 cashback when this deal was initially posted.)

Cashrewards is still $35 at the moment, but maybe they will bump it up? @tightarse

    • Initial deposit … ahh I did a deposit yesterday :/

      • +1

        Cashrewards is now $65.

        • Nice. I see ShopBack have dropped theirs to $45. Silly sausages.

  • A bit hesitant at first with the amount of identity docs you have to hand over but fairly smooth sign up and rewards receipt. Satisfied

    • +2

Tiger was the easiest for me, compared to Moomoo and Webull. Tiger approved me almost instantly with no docs requested.

  • Cashrewards is now $55 cashback.

    ShopBack is now $25 cashback.

These amounts seem to change every 2 days or so and fluctuate more than the All Ords. Does anyone know if we can set up alerts for when they hit certain amounts?

    • +1

Shopback is now $65 hahaha - I got in at the right time (Few days ago).
Pretty sure ShopBack sends push notifications for upsized deals, not 100% sure about Cashrewards though. I caught it on the landing page of the app and thought it was a good time to signup.

      • I was holding off for $70 minimum. Might have to bite at $65.

        • +1

It's a gamble, but at the end of the day you have more to lose if you hold off and let this one expire and they never bring back a new (better) deal. $65 vs $20 (Says 'Was $20' so I assume that's their original deal)

          • @Empharand: If you click on the cashback box at the top of the deal and then the little cycle/refresh icon, it'll show you a history of every cashback amount applied to this deal. There are a lot haha.
