  • I dont know how popular this kind of product is. $260 for a remote? you can buy a recorder.

    • Quickly! There is a limit of two per person and the offer ends at 12pm SHARP!!! !!11

      • No thanks!! I don't see the hurry, both Mwave and ShoppingSquare are trying every month to rid this same remote over and over at same prices!!! Today's Mwave deal is more expensive to non-Sydney siders from the ShoppingSquare $1 postage deal last week.

  • Not sure that this is that great a bargain. Shopbot reveals the same thing can be had easily for close to this price at a lot of places

  • I don't meant to crap all over the sale but ..

While all the Harmony range of universal remotes are amazing (I love mine, a Harmony 525), this one is cheap (relatively) because it's an old model which has been replaced by a redesigned version which has hard buttons rather than a touch screen. The touch screen proved unpopular because while you can see it in the dark, you can't "feel" where the buttons are so you have to look at the screen to operate the remote, it's also rather large.

However, the newer model (Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote) is $100 more and the price on this 1000i is much below the original RRP of $799 … so depending on your budget and requirement it is probably a good buy.

For what it's worth, The Harmony One you mentioned actually bought the touch screen back. Still has buttons too mind which I assume is what you were getting at.

I'd love a harmony one personally although maybe for $100 less. Sure, these remotes aren't cheap but they're for the guys who have stacks of home audio equipment and as soon as your looking at even mid range audio setups your probably looking at five to ten thousand worth of equipment for many home theatres. For something like that with DVD players, receivers, TV's, Multimedia PC's, Consoles ect all together then $100 to $300 may not be a big hole in the pocket to automate the entire setup.

I wouldn't get this model but, I don't like the form factor.
