just be careful this deal is mattress top only, not the full ensemble. 5 years warrant only other manufacturer offer longer warranty.

if the RRP they claim is true around $2000, mattress of that price range normally offers 10 years warranty. the lower sub $1000 range usually gives 5 years warranty. so this mattress is quite basic, lack of fancy features such as natural latex, wool, etc. this is not a big deal.

Speaking from experience (I work in the bedding industry) this is not the massive deal it claims to be. Similar models in b&m stores/chains have an RRP of between $899 and $1199 not $1999 and a sale price of around the $599 mark. So yes its a deal because its the right price but its the same deal you can find in most stores. The RRP of the model they are selling to me would be more like the RRP of the queen ensemble, not just the mattress, and even then its still a bit high. A model superior to this would retail at approx $1399 (better grade comfort layers, latex, full wool top etc) and go on sale for approx $799-$899, depending on exact spec.

Just thought I would chuck my 2c in.

EDIT: Oh and after reading the above comment, yes the ones i mentioned would have a 10 year warranty, not a 5. And always be sure to read the fine print on mattress/ensemble warranties. Not all companies cover the same thing.

    • And always be sure to read the fine print on mattress/ensemble warranties. Not all companies cover the same thing.

Doesn't matter what they cover or what they don't cover, ACL Consumer Guarantees override any warranty, simple.

      • Correct. I should have elaborated on my statement above. Warranties on mattresses/ensembles should be examined closely to see what is covered. I.e manufacturing faults are covered under warranties and ACL. However general wear and tear (I think it might be labelled 'fair wear and tear under ACL) is not covered. Most manufactures (or at least the ones i deal with) have tolerances on things such as compression of comfort layers which vary depending on the model (i.e spring system and foam layers). Each one has its own tolerances which they define as being acceptable and have been done so in consideration of ACL. Certain support systems are not recommended for certain people and if you buy the wrong product and have an issue, it won't be covered, even under ACL, unless you were lead to believe that the product would be fit for purpose (and prove it). But that is a whole other part of ACL.

  • What's the difference between Cudo queen spine matress for $599 and this one for $379 http://www.bedsonline.com.au/products/QUEEN-BED-SALE-Sleepma…

Two different spring systems. The one from Cudo is SleepMakers Duracoil Plus system. The one you posted uses an older style Bonnell spring. Also the comfort layers on top would vary.

  • Nice deal but Pass, gotta have the pillow top on both sides, its a bugger turning but so much more comfortable.

You'll probably get it next year being a Cudo deal

  • I have enough trouble finding a mattress that is comfortable in the store, let alone buying one without a test-rest.

  • Not sure if the claimed RRP are realistic!
