The double and queen are quite big and heavy so it is recommended to buy 2 singles instead.

I reckon using the Welcome10 code might invalidate cashback.

    • oh it does? I clicked through CR anyway, will report back it if tracked

Being tracked doesn’t mean anything though. It’s about being approved if using a code not listed but in reality it doesn’t hurt to try.

I have a queen one of these; it is very comfortable. Better than an air mattress because it’ll still be comfortable with a puncture. Wish I’d done what op suggested and got two singles, it is quite big and heavy.

  • Tempted to get one of these for the back of my Passat - are they any good?

    • I've got a queen one and its pretty comfy. Bit big and heavy, and definitely wont be going back in the bag any time soon.

      • Pretty easy to get back in the bag with a bit of weight as you roll it.

I prefer to deflate using an air mattress pump also, makes it super easy.

Will this protect me from sandworms?

I bought 4 of these for me, my partner and my friends when we started camping about a year and a half ago and have used it for around 10 camping trips since then. Keep in mind that your comfort may vary based on your body structure and weight distribution. It was quite comfortable for two of us and quite uncomfortable for the other two. We tried rotating them as well to make sure it wasn't the mats.

Essentially these do not have zoning/pockets so for me all the air runs to the less heavy part which are my legs and at that point my ass mid body is essentially on the ground with a soft layer of foam in between…and my legs are a bit raised as well which feels a bit weird but I think its not a good position to sleep in from health perspective.

Now me and my partner recently decided to invest in one of the good air mattresses, and honestly couldn't have been happier. Its so much more comfortable, takes so less space than these humungousaurs. On a camping trip space matters and I could fit 3 good air mattresses in the space of one of this in my car.

Sold 2 of these recently on marketplace and bought this instead for the ultimate camping experience:

    Bestway Alwayzaire

    • How did you find those air mattress for noise? Can definitely be a problem with some brands.
For example, if someone rolls over, does it wake everyone else?

What about the wave effect of a partner moving and then air wave comes hitting into the sleeping body next to them?

Keen to conserve space but not at the expense of sleep and posture support.

      • If that is a concern, get 2 singles.

I had a Dune 4wd mattress. Delaminated and lumped, before I even used it.
    Took it back for refund.
All I did was lay it out on the lounge floor for a few days after unwrapping it….which is what's suggested to do anyway

    • Yep, you can buy one of these dune mattresses for cheap and get up to a few years use before they fall apart.

Or spend 3 times more and buy a quality camping mattress and get 10+ years of life, a better sleep, and more compact product.

The therm-a-rest that I purchased in 1989 for $200 was crazy expensive, but was a bargain because it's 34 years old, been used thousands of times, still works perfectly, and if it ever delaminates or fails in any way I can get it replaced for free under warranty.

      Cheap ≠ bargain

I have one of these and swore by it for the first 3 or 4 trips. Then it delaminted and now it also leaks slowly (not an issue when sleeping on it, but it does make storing it a pain as it expands in its bag). It still okay, but enviromentaly I feel bad about the wastage, as it's destined for the bin within a few years.
