Tier A, supports the latest ATX sleep mode standards (have never quite understood what that's all about but Aris says it's important), and a great write up on Tom's Hardware.

Definitely a top quality unit, only knock looks to be doesn't support a single cable ATX 3.0 12VHPWR connector for the NVIDIA 40xx cards

This model was released in 2019.

Other than that, 10 year warranty, 50 degree rated.

850W on a 4090 might be a bit so-so, depending on the rest of the config, as NVIDIA's 850W requirement is based on a 5900X config. Then again, many have power limited their 4090's quite a bit with minimal performance losses.

  • Comparable to a Corsair RM850X?

I've heard a lot of talk of coil whine on those Corsair units… (Whether it be the PSU itself or the GPU connected to this PSU).

I have an old pro series HX850 and it's been dead silent for over 10 years… I wonder if I should just keep it for my next build… Always ran it way under it's limit.

    • Yep, keep your existing one I reckon, best bargain of all

  • I just discovered sfx psus, they're so cool
