  Does the mini even have a replaceable filter? Is it the same filter unit as all the others?
  
  My old 4S popped a resistor on its PSU and a new board is ~$120, which is hard to stomach considering I don't think I even paid that for the whole unit back in the day when they were new and cheap.
  
  …on that note, do any resident electronics-minded folk know whether I can just wire a 24V/2A power-brick to the 2-pin in the unit? Bypassing the bottom internal power board entirely.
  Is the OEM power board doing anything extra, or just eliminating the need for an 'unsightly' external brick?
