    More firestarters?

    • +6

Pack of 3, should really get the blaze going. Hay-mix might be a better name.

Got a few for the fireplace

  • not compatible with 14?

Despite what everyone have been saying, I personally haven't experienced anything negative about Heymix products, I have used their desktop chargers, the 65w wall ones and some of these smaller ones as well.. they all work well. Perhaps I'm just plugging it in for an hour or so to charge the phone and then unplugging it? Regardless, it does what it is suppose so.. and it's cheap

    • +3

cheap indeed… but it shouldn't crap out with an overnight charge… with a potential to burn the place down…

    • +1

      Me neither.
They fit the purpose of starting the fireplace and charcoal bbq.
      Grabbed a few more

Mine sparked on the desk at work. Landfill

mine blewup within 2 hours of use. Shorted the breaker, put burn marks all over the outlet (need to replace it), and blew the charger port on the device i was charging (a power bank). Although i got a refund for the charger, the damages it caused outweigh the cost of the charger, which the seller didn't want to contribute to at all.Lucky i didn't have an expensive phone or laptop connected to it.

Heymix was the turning point for me trialing with my wallet cheap no name brand chargers.

Interesting. From the first 1 star review. If anyone has a USB-C power tester, it would be interesting to see if this is repeatable.

The charger is marked to output 5v@3a, [email protected] and [email protected], but in its PD packet it can only output 9V@2A and [email protected] with maximum of 18W. So devices that strict on power supply like HomePod mini won't work at all and will just keep restarting. I'm not asking for industrial, rock-solid quality but at least the specs should be right?

Was bored. Checked out SAA certification 201-450.

    It's for the SDC-18WACA, SDC-18WACB, TSC-18WACA and TSC-18WACB adapters.

    This one is the TCS-20WACB.

    • +1

There's a 1-star review with a picture showing the model new model (TCS-20WACB) connected to a power tester showing 18w output.

It would appear that these are still 18W chargers.

Electrical safety certification in Oz is mind-numbingly complex and opaque. And, frankly, boring if it's your job. But, in brief, for a product like this (External Power Supply):

      (i) must have a safety report from an approved test house

(ii - a) the report must be assessed by an authorised certifier and then loaded onto the Electrical Equipment Safety System, and THEN all importers must register (and pay a fee) to be a Responsible Supplier of the product, or

(ii - b) the report must be assessed by the NSW Dept of Fair Trading and listed on their database

(iii) an electromagnetic compatibility report must be held by the Responsible Supplier, demonstrating that the product meets EMC standards.

Anyone can search the electrical safety databases:

      EESS: https://equipment.erac.gov.au/Public/

      NSW FT: http://eapr.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/default.aspx

A brief search of the databases shows:

My conclusion - based only on easily accessed and public information - is that the product is probably safe but (as with many, many products on Amazon) the correct processes have not been followed to demonstrate that what is being sold is actually the same as the product that was tested. (Oh, and there's a whole lot more products on Amazon and eBay that are patently unsafe, or that MAY be safe, but where no safety/testing procedures at all have been followed). In any case, the certificate appearing in the Amazon ad (SAA-201450-EA) does NOT cover this product, and all the EESS registrations for that certificate (on EESS) have expired.

My goto charger. Ordered a previous deal 3 for 8.49$. Been working flawlessly and got no complaints or it.

I'd rather not burn down the place to save a few dollars

Got this in 2-pack few months ago, one of it stopped working last month

Heymix is often offering 50% coupons and I would argue it has the most faulty units percentage wise compared to other brands on Amazon. Once bought their gan charger which turned out to be faulty, destroying a power bank (and possibly my brand new ipad - didn't smell burnt chemicals but no longer turned on). Contacted seller and they didn't believe me that their item was faulty (no warranty), even started arguing with me so I gave up. Every other amazon seller I have reached out have apologised, telling me to return it or most often sending a replacement. Not a good experience.

Of course, there are good units, hence why some of us have successful experiences with Heymix. If all of them were faulty, Heymix wouldn't be running.

    • Heymix is often offering 50% coupons

If they don't improve their quality control and enough customers complain, I am sure they will be forced to offer them at 100% discount. :-P

  • I got the dual port and I noticed when using it for that . It was a nice heater .
Using 1 port it was ok .

  • +2

These are garbage chargers and prone to breaking/burning out attached devices. Not a deal even if it’s ‘cheap’

  • +2

So many negative reviews and comments on every Hey-mix charger post, but still people keep posting new ones. Why?

  • +1

Thanks for your efforts OP, but Heymix are a big safety no-no.

  • I am always wondering, if something happened with this kind of imported devices, will it affect your house insurance claim?
