Decent price for Life is Strange: True Colours, excellent game too! It’s leaving GamePass this month btw.

    • +1

Left a few days ago. I agree it's an excellent game.

    • +2

Life is Strange 2 is far better I thought

    • and fuuckin of course the game is 404 on the website now…

  • +3

Does anyone remember a site where it told you about trading in game deals? Like you go to JB and buy 2 copies of Snack World on Switch, and then go to EB and trade it for Zelda?

    • +9

Ecogamer. Shut down years ago sadly.

      • +4

Now there's a name I've not heard in a long time

    • +7

Ahhh the good old days of 'Tradebaiting'. That sort of thing afaik only lasted a few golden months, maybe 10+ years ago, before JB Hi-Fi changed their Exclusion List to an Inclusion List and now genuinely expect people to be trading in 3 new releases for another.

Are these Cd or digital? My son has xbox digital

    • +6

Physical discs. The Xbox Series S only supports digital games.

  • $1 games worth more for eb trade in?

    • +2

No. I think Agents of Mayhem is only worth $0.50 at EB.

    • +1

Two for $30, Two Point hospital and Dodgeball Academia on Switch.

Both 80+ rated on metacritic. I'm skipping as I'd rather play on PC.

      • I played about 10hrs of Dodgeball Academia when it was on GamePass, it was great.

  • +4

    Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair – $15

This is the stand out to me for those who like physical copies.

Essential for anyone who liked Donkey Kong Country. It’s the spiritual successor.

    • +2

Snagged this one, my girlfriend is slowly starting to pick up gaming and Donkey Kong Country on the Switch SNES emulator was an unexpected hit. Heavy use of the rewind feature, but she enjoyed the gameplay.

Figured she'd like this, plus I want to support the team further for trying their best with their Banjo Kazooie spiritual successor.

  • Dang was looking for stranger of paradise cheap for ps5, always seems to be Xbox though

  • +1

You could use a perks voucher to potentially get some for free!

    • How do you get those? I got ten dollars for signing up but it was a long time ago

      • You get one for signing up, then it seems to be randomly targeted if you don't spend there in a while. I've only received a second $10 voucher after about a year and half.

      • +2

You also get one in your birthday month

  • The $5 x one games are good value.

  • +3

not really any gems that stick out.

    • +4

      Okay I'll bite.

The first Wolfenstein was amazing, even better when you unlock the 999 health mode.

  • Snack world is basically around $20-30 regularly.
I've seen it as low as $18.99 brand new.

Definitely a hidden gem of a game though.

  • +1

Telltale Batman for $5 is a score

  • How is Black Ops 4 still $30 lol.. It's online only.. Is there still a huge amount of active players?

    • +1

Multiplayer, zombies and the blackout BR.

I think it's still fairly popular on console, especially amongst trickshotters/sweaty players who do edits.
Some people consider it the "last good cod".

Personally, I loved bo4 zombies, though I know a lot did not.

      • I liked Blops 4 but $30 this far along is a bit outrageous in any case. If there is still an active player base, I might go back to it, I already own it.

        • I'm pretty sure they've really been trying to avoid dropping the prices low.
Like even during steam sales, some of the cod games prices are still ridiculously high.

        • +2

Cod franchise is like the Apple product, their prices are outrageously high even after a decade later. Go look at the games on steam.

          • @PuntyBrah: Yeah just checked them out, ridiculous prices. I also booted up Blops 4 last night as I already own it, to check out the online and player base. I could get matches but not easy. Also, I remember it was fun at the time but it is in no way as fun as Modern Warfare 2019. It feels too cartoony and I forgot about the stupid jetpack style jumping. It plays like everyone is on crack and there is no recoil at all on the guns and feels crap. Infinity Ward remaking MW2019 was the right move, the gunplay is second to none.

  • Thank you! Grabbed Fobia

  • Batman Telltale defs worth it

    • link to that page is dead for XBONE :(

  • Any $1 or $2 games that have good trade in value at EB?

    • With my level 4 card, I've found that most games trade in for about 40% of their pre-owned sale price.
So, Middle-Earth shadow of mordor on xbox one would trade in for about $4 with a level 4 eb membership and it costs $2 from jb.

Can't say how accurate that is as its based on my observations/rough calculations.
The other $1-2 games don't seem to have any profit at all for trade-ins.

But maybe some of them are on the lists for the "trade in 2 games get x game for $__ price"

      • +1

I just use CEX (webuy) as a rough comparison.
So if Mordor is $1.40 cash value, EB will usually be around the same, before membership bonuses.

        • I've never really compared to webuy so I don't know how much this has held up for me.
But I'll take your word for it, as I haven't been to eb in a few years.

  • +1

Why are some games available in store but not for click and collect from that same store?

  • +2

the delivery is like $25 for 8 games. makes the deal not worth it.

  • +1

Almost all of the PS4 and PS5 games are on PSExtra, if you are planning to play more than one of these within a year it's probably worth looking at extra.

  • -1

Thanks OP, I bought Life is Strange: True Colours for xbox series x. The game just shipped. I realised that JB's cheapest shipping on games now has tracking but before it was untracked now their shipping is like Big w.

  • +1

Picked up Chorus for PS5 for $9 after a perks voucher. I was hoping to get Metro Exodus Complete Edition as well but stock is very limited.

    • +1

Completed it, nice game, especially the voice actor for your A. I sidekick.

  • +3

Waited so long for Shenmue 3, eagerly invested in the Kickstarter and spent the following years awaiting its constant delays. It finally arrived and I paid like $150 for whatever edition I bought. Still can’t bring myself to actually playing it.

And now it’s $5. Nostalgia is toxic.

  • Aw Nier Replicant Xbox version just disappeared from online store that I was gonna buy with 15% off code! I owned PS4 version anyway.

JBHIFI online store shouldn't remove anything until 100% sold out. Low stocks can be still useful for click & collect from which store/s got currently.

  • do not buy outriders.
