Might not be a popular lens but this is the lowest price I've seen for quite some time that has Australia warranty. Happy to be wrong as I am considering it.

Seems like a good deal. I sold my F mount 70-200 2.8, and i havent missed it, except for one recent wedding i shot. I tend to use the 24-70 and 105 as my main go to lenses these days, but the price is tempting.

I got my 24-70 2.8 for $2k on amazon from amazon. That was a bargain. :D

    • Treat your self

    • I remember that 24-70 deal, I couldn't justify a 2k spend then (was still on crop) but I've been waiting for it to return ever since!

  • I'm still considering this or the newly released 85mm Z f/1.2 but this zoom is more flexible. Yes it is a zoom but nowadays these new Nikon Z zoom lenses are very good and saw a review of the compression that can be achieved with this lens for portrait is quite extra-ordinary.

Big price difference. :D i would love that 85 1.2 and would probably insta buy if it was $3k

      • I couldn't believe it when I saw the RRP of that 85mm!

I bought it a year ago but sitting there doing nothing, used it once just to take a shot at the blood moon event, then sold it recently on eBay. Nice lens but I always stick with 24-70, a lot of portraiture for my own style.

    • That's what I 'm concern about, the size is not that "portable"…decision decision

I like the rendition of the 70-200mm and how versatile it can be, such as wildlife in a pinch, but the weight can be tiresome after a full weekend. Lately the go to is 50mm or 85mm fast primes as the weight is all concentrated.

  • What a bazooka

  • Any deals? Or wait for deals? Want to buy z6ii with 24mm-70

If anyone is looking for a great 2nd hand version of this (I think I took less than 300 shots with mine, and kept it in desiccator), send me a pm :) pickup from Melbourne.

I've got the VR II of this lens, about 11 years old and it's amazing glass.
